Greif bicycles?
Hi folks,
I realize by posting this, that I may shoot myself in the foot if this is the find of the century, but I don't think it is. Mostly, I'm just curious. There's a guy around here posting an ad for a Greif bicycle. 5-speed, needs some work, the usual shebang. From the tiny picture, looks to be a 60's-70's vintage bike, sort of Raleigh Sprite-ish. $10. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/1987523935.html I can't find much beyond the fact that there was a sewing machine company in Germany that switched over to bicycles before WW2, and kept making them through the nineties. I've called the guy to go see the bike, but he's not called me back yet. As I said before, I'm mostly just curious as to what this is, and if it's even worth driving over to see. Seattle's a big pain in the butt for me to get to anyway, so if the thing's a piece of junk, I'm not driving. If someone snaps it up before me, I won't be devastated. Anyone know anything about these? I think I'm mostly suffering from piqued curiousity. |
Well, he's sold it. But I'm still wondering what they are.

When I saw the title, I thought you were talking about the all white bikes that people place at the site of a fatal accident, also called ghost bikes, but that would be grief bikes. Sorry, I don't know anything about Greif bikes.
