Every year when this "holiday" comes around I'm left scratching my head and generally peeved. A holiday for a ******, murderer and spreader of venereal disease? As if that weren't enough to cancel the holiday, it is well known that plenty of explorers sailed to this continent before Columbus.

That said, hooray for Columbus tubing!

Here is my contribution - the only Columbus-framed bike I own at that moment. ( '87 Cd'I)

What's yours?

As if that weren't enough to cancel the holiday
To quote a favorite British comic..."always look on the bright side of life"

Having the day free from all forms of work, I set out this morning on my favorite British Cycle, wandered about on nearly empty roads ( a rare accurance in NJ) under a beautiful Autum sky. Thought about stopping for scones ( not really) but opted for a donut instead and returned home to water me mums. Splendid holiday it was!

I've always appreciated the ride of Columbus steel.

Currently in the rotation, '84 Waterford Paramount:

Recently departed Centurion Equipe:

Still patiently waiting to be built, Greg Diamond:

Interesting possibly amateur built 'Norman' I'm hanging onto as a curiosity:

Others have passed through my hands.

I'm a Federal employee..

Today was my first day "off" in several weeks.

Started it off with a nice ride on a crisp autumn morning. The smell of the leaves and the sun making cool shadows and highlighting the colours on the trees...

Then played guitar and bass really loud all day long.

Glad you picked the donut, more C&V, as many of us are on the + side of the median mass tables....
I myself turned down an offer of a home made scone (mainly based on appearance) but did get a Krispy Kreme en route home....

My "Columbus Day" bike is only this SL model,

and the red SL one has gone to a relative. (whose day was "made" when a BF member recognized it on a century ride)

An SLX Cilo, however, lurks in the garage, frame waiting for PC and new decals....

Robbie,

There's that gorgeous Cinelli Equipe of yours.

I wanted to add that to the "most beautiful bike" thread in the worst way, but couldn't deal with searching through the forums on my iPhone.

What a looker!!!!!

I really believe I'll find one of these eventually.
