Woahh. That's quite the transformation. Good work!

mikeyb1 10-17-10 07:16 PM

Wow, you should be proud of that one. Excellent choice on the decals and the white accents. Nice work and attention to detail.

Not to be redundant, but WOW! That bike really pops!

gtownviking 10-17-10 07:48 PM

Thanks. I forgot to add, she rides like a dream. I have never ridden a bike with 27" tires but wow....what a ride and she is incredibly responsive.

I will be riding her this Sunday at the Austin LiveSTRONG event. 45 miles for her "maiden voyage"

I think a WOAH! is in order. Nice work man!

DRietz 10-17-10 08:21 PM

Nice bike! Awesome transformation!

Did you clear the decals?

Zaphod Beeblebrox 10-17-10 08:34 PM

The white panel on the downtube is just awesome.

Are these the original wheels?

Andrew F 10-17-10 08:52 PM

Better than new, perhaps a new classification is in order BTN

jan nikolajsen 10-17-10 09:02 PM

Very nice work. Those are Schwalbe Marathons, right?

Michael Angelo 10-17-10 09:04 PM

What a wonderful looking bike, great colors, and great detail work. Nice job :thumb:

What housing is that? Very nice btw.

gtownviking 10-17-10 09:23 PM

Drietz - Clear as in clear coat? No, I did not.
Zap - Yes, those are the original Araya wheels and original hubs....new spokes though.
Jan - Yes, you have a good eye or you're just a Schwable stalker!

Robo - The housing is a basic white cable housing I bought at my LBS for about $2 a foot. Sorry I do not have a name. It came in a plastic bag with nothing in or on it when I picked it up at the shop.

Sweet!

Also really like the short depth-of-field photography.

ColonelJLloyd 10-18-10 09:21 AM

Looks fantastic! Great job. Love the decals! Very nice photography. :thumb:

You might consider routing the rear brake cable on the drive side of the seatpost. This would also be a good bike to try right/front, left/rear cabling if you're so inclined.

kralizec 10-18-10 11:09 AM

little paint and polish never hurt anything.

Meh... it makes it harder to appreciate the bike. I can feel my eyes trying to focus the image if I stray from the intended subject of the photo.

Roll-Monroe-Co 10-18-10 11:32 AM

bloody brilliant!

jspare 10-18-10 11:47 AM

Great style! How did you get the components to shine like that ???

WNG 10-18-10 12:29 PM

Great job! Stunning results.

wtgrantham 10-18-10 01:45 PM

Great Job! Would like to see a better "after" picture from the side more like the "before" picture

Grand Bois 10-18-10 04:34 PM

I'm sorry, but the cable routing ruins an otherwise beautiful bike for me.
