Just sayin'. At least they were interesting.

I miss the old stickies, too.
But I don't mind the appraisals being moved.

BBM, just roll with it... what was the mantra we all heard too much two years ago?
"Change we can believe in."
"Change we can believe in."

NO! Change is not good just for it's own sake. Change should be something that can be explained, decisions taken for reasons. That's rational discussion in a free and at least formerly rational society. If we bit hook, line, and sinker on "change bait" in the past, shame on us if we don't like the outcome now.

"Change we can believe in" isn't a mantra for change for the sake of change. In order to mean anything at all, it has to be referring to some specific change that the promoter wants us to embrace as worth believing in -- and I think in the original use of the slogan, it was. But I can't remember for the life of me what it was. A presidential candidate's campaign?... 5 blades instead of just 4 on razor cartridges?.... "Genuine Corinthian leather" in Chrysler gas guzzlers?
I suppose it could also mean, "One of the certainties in life we can believe in is Change." Don't gotta like it. Just like death and taxes. Could be shortened to "Suck it up."

can't we just go back to having no stickies?
At least everyone felt the same way about it

It was deemed tha there were too many stickies, so after much discussion and angst the administrators "fixed" the problem. Now we have almost as many as before, only they are not nearly as interesting as the old ones.
If we're going to have clutter, I vote that we at least have interesting clutter.
For example - THIS ONE is a waste of space and serves no real use, yet it perseveres after every "cleanup".

I completely agree. Old stickies were reasonable, and seemed to have support of the forum denizens who liked having some. New ones are like one person's idea of what they'd like to see. Who is that?
But the whole look-and-feel and functionality of BF has gone the way of ”if it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is.“

I only asked that the "Where in the Wrld" and the "Facilitators" threads remain stickies for 3-4 weeks so they could get populated. I think there's value in having the Facilitators thread front and center but the other can be dropped off...I'll ask to have that one unstickied.
I think that a ride thread could be stickied for two weeks up to the ride date, then unstickied. That makes sense to me. While there are regional forums let's face it, most of us C&V minded folks hang out right here...
I'd volunteer mod services to manage that aspect if any of the mods are listening.
EDIT: I could also ask that both threads be added to the reference thread, would that be ok with everyone? I feel a little responsible since I asked to have these two stickied.

I, too, completely agree. It's like we end up stuck with threads that AREN'T popular, and the ones that are get left out so more pointless threads get started.
Why do we have the "Selling [blah] Look here" thread in a forum we can't even sell in? Really? That makes about | | much sense.
And why do we have a thread about a ride that only less than 1% of C&V can even go to? When we were trying to plan a ride here in NC it didn't get stickied, what gives?
Why are the most popular threads NOT stickies, but instead compiled as "former stickies"? Ebay/CL finds, Catch of the day, Numbskull, Your C&V, Where'd you ride, Pay It Forward, And the facilitators thread should all be stickies. ISO and For Trade should be in sales IMO. The rest can be taken off as stickies.
I've been here over two years, and have seen some dumb stuff, but the way the stickies get moved around is by far the dumbest.

They can stay the way they are, as I don't dig into them, because I have little interest.
Gene has a lot of my favorites listed above, and I'll just find them when I have an extra moment.

Are they up to five yet? I deemed the whole new-age-razor thing silly when they hit three and just started using a double-edge from the 1950s. At 15 cents per blade.
As for the stickies, I rarely mess with them and just scroll past before refreshing. Oddly, though, I did keep my eye on the old ones...

Not having the eBay / Craigslist "looking for one of these?" thread stickied is lunacy.

absolutely.
That one is gone. I agree it had no place here once the for sale sub forum opened up.
and fwiw I haven't touched the stickies other than to add Khatful's 2 threads about a month ago (or more).
