my first 28" three bar cruiser

Now what is it, it has a skip tooth crank, but no head badge (holes are there parallel and wide spaced) Troxel saddle. obvious repaint, wheels are 28" not sure what if anything is original

Wheels look like English 28s, not American 28s. Waaaay easier to get tires for.

so far the closest matches are Elgin and Hawthorn from the 20's I think the cranks may be original, but the chain ring might be later?
The previous owner thought it had wood wheels originally as well, and that the fork may not be original to the frame.

Still, I'm thinking what a Klunker it would make. Nice bike, do you have any plans for it?

I would indeed make a cool klunker, an acquaintance had a set of Araya's with drum brakes for sale a while ago.. I might just clean it up repack everything and ride it as is too. Might need to recover the seat though, the vinyl is pretty brittle. A period appearing motor might be cool too

Maybe Canadian--most english rims would be 32/40 spokes not 36/36.

That'd be cool, Canadian are even easier to find. They really look like rod brake roadster rims, though.

the rims don't appear to have a braking surface on them, I would assume they were intended for drum/coaster brakes

no one has any idea who made this frame either? I have seen lots of similar, but the attachment of the center bar at seat tube is unique so far.

Skiptooth drives and angled dropouts are both very rare on Canadian bikes...but the wheels might be canucks. Slip a 700c on it to check.
