Second one today! Tommaso was a brand name used for Italian manufactured frames painted and outfitted in the US. Very nice bikes! Check out these links. Mine is in the photo below.

All I can share: these were a TSD import brand and, like a lot of theirs, were imported raw and painted in the US. According to one guy who painted Tommasos for TSD, they were built by Billato.

I suspect the bike was originally built all Sante and the wheels on it now were either training wheels or crash/damage replacements

thanks Agian Bianchigirll . this makes sense the bike was used in The Ironman in Penticton in the mid 1980,s by the original owner. and he used it as a training bike before i bought it .

hey.. great looking bike

your serial number could be covered by paint and not readable. perhaps it is even this. also look on the bottom area of the seattube and the dropouts (if you haven't)

Check your left-hand crankarm and BB - they're rubbing against each other.

Either the BB is ISO and the crankarm is JIS, the crankarm taper is enlarged, or the BB left-hand length is incorrect.

I just went and checked it and no its not rubbing . the BB is sunken in giving enough room to the crank arm to spin without touching!
had me worried there for a second! LOL

Impossible. The BB cup is sunken in only because the lockring sits a bit farther out. There can't be more than a couple thousands of an inch clearance between the cup and the arm, and I bet they contact each other under pedaling forces.

Pull the arm, and I guarantee you'll find friction marks at the back.

yep.. that's from around 87 alright. i grew up as a junior racing with a friend of mine who had that very frame (in pink/white fade!).. that there's around an 87-88, no doubt in my mind, and if i'm not mistaken, he bought in from colorado cyclist.
