Grand Bois Hetre 650b help

Can anyone with some Grand Bois 42mm Hetre 650b tires please provide me with some dimensions?

I'm looking for the actual width when inflated (and what width rim its mounted on please), and the distance from the axle to the ground.

I'd love to use these tires in an upcoming build but Its the only reason I'm considering 650B and I wanna make sure they're gonna fit before I get too far in.

Thanks in Advance.

I have those on my MTB... only reason I have them is Schwalbe isn't making Big Apple tires in the 650B size.

Care to take a ruler to them? Pretty please?

I'm really happy with my Grand Bois Cypress 700c tires. I've got no doubt the Hetres are great.

Not to divert this thread (I'm good at that), but what brakes are you using to be able to use ISO 584 rims on a MTB?

Yes, go check the brand and measure the tires while you're at it!

So my Hetres measure 40mm on Rigida Sphynx rims (which are about 23mm wide measuring from the outside edges of the rim). Distance from the center of the axle to the ground is 34cm.

You rock, thank you very much Neal!

I might as well ask even though I'm pretty sure I know the answer already....how do you like those tires?

Like rolling on fast clouds! I was running them too hard for a while and now have settled on 40 psi for most uses (including mixed terrain). With my 160 lbs on board, that feels very good.

Winter project: build a 650B coversion around a tire that feels like fast clouds.

Check. Added to the list.

Your endorsement was enough to knock me off the fence, Neal.

What color are you gonna use, ZB?

I'm thinking Red tread because its just so cool. Although there might be black spokes involved so I'm not 100% sure. I measured the frame and I think I've got clearance.

I've heard others measure those tires as wide as 42mm, so the frame really does need a ton of clearance if it wasn't built around that size. Or you can put them on a PX-10:

JP Weigle fits Hetres to old Raleigh road bikes on a regular basis, pretty darn cool too!

Cheers,
Chris
