COLORAL --- Water Bottles Only?

Did Coloral make anything other than water bottles? Perhaps bottle cages or other frame accessories I would guess.

I can't find any catalogs of theirs floating around the www. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

In the 1952 Brown Brothers catalog, Coloral sold bottles, cages (singles and doubles), something called a lockring bottle and carrier (looks skinny and tall) and a child seat that attached over the rear wheel.

This is my single cage and bottle,

Search Coloral on ebay UK. They come up often.

I've got a Coloral blue anodized twin bottle holder, but for very small (10oz.?) bottles. Should dig it out a snap a picture, it's not much more then a few aluminum straps rivieted together but it's clearly stamped Coloral.

Might I ask what is so special about Coloral? I know why I like my bottles, and I know where they are going, but I did not know that they were anything special.

As a mostly 80's bike collector, I just can't get into these ancient looking metal bottles. Let alone the thought of putting something to drink in them as I suspect all the "patina" and the old and very organic corks on them will affect the taste of the contents in a bad way.....
Plastic waterbottles are not so perfect either as I continue to encounter NOS plastic bottles with the most unpleasant plastic odors from them. Anyone have any ideas on how to deodorize water bottles of any material? Would putting baking soda in them absorb and eliminate all odors and residual taste from them??
Maybe BG is on the right track carrying all those nice glass wine bottles on her bikes......

The aluminum bottles dented easily and then got tossed. Now, they are somewhat rare. Coloral made them in the pretty colors. Everyone else was just plain aluminium.

Yours are an older version and a bit more desirable. Just a guess and I know you didn't ask, but the set with the cage would get $200-$250 on ebay.

Well Randy, cats outa the bag on the bottle huh?

What so special? As iab said, and for collectors of pre & post war bikes, they are like a string of pearls on the plunging neck line of a fine lady. (or a gold chain on a ripped chest for da lady readers)

Oh my God! I just realized how far I've descended from reality! Well, as long as I'm here, if you ever want to dispose of those bottles of yours......I'm just a PM away

Those twin handlebar mount bottles are for aesthetic purposes, only. The water bottle I use, and I get a new one every now and again, is readily available in any convenience store and often filled with some PowerAide drink (phooey stink-o) or even good old spring water. These bottles do not look cool, and I really don't care, nor do they offer an after, or plastic, taste of any kind.

And, they come with a nipple sort of thing that is fun, I mean convenient, to drink from:-)

As for selling the bottles, gotta finish the CCM and shoot pictures for my website. You might well see a PM, once that project is completed. Hard to say, though - the 1939 CCM is my best find this year. Of course...

I just might be getting an old Concorde Cross bike on Wednesday. That might be the best, and likely the last, bike of the year.

Recently came across an auction for a vintage Coloral bag support. There was also a blue anodized 10 oz. mini feeding bottle.

So, I think what I have must be the carriers for the "10oz feeding bottles" What are they? The feeding bottles, that is.

Re: Feeding bottles.

Searched Ebay's completed listings, using the keywords Coloral bottle, for an image of the bottle I mentioned. Also pictured is an actual Coloral food bottle.

They'd really make for some some gorgeous kit, as well as providing needed sustenance during a vintage endurance race (perfect for some rice or figgy pudding).

Here is a current listing for a carrier referred to as a Coloral Mansfield: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Rear...item416f207fca

They made the cages anodized to match the bottles too. I have a blue one on a bike somewhere...
