Nice bike. Those look like Omicron rims. Can you add a drive side photo too?

Some help as to what I should clean it with would be great. I want the shiny bits to shine, but I do not want to scratch or mar them up in any way.

My question exactly!

To the op, nice find. A Zullo Special I think.

These are great riding bikes.

I have three of these beauties that I thoroughly enjoy.

I know Chuckk has a very nice one as well.

We have a few of these floating around the Twin Cities, as one of my favorite racing shops in town here carried them for a time.

My orange Special is all Super Record, as is my Criterium. My Sprint is mostly Gran Sport, although I am mighty tempted to toss a Super Record rear derailleur on that as well.

I think a couple of us had emailed the seller of yours about its availability.

Now I know why they never got back to us.

Oh, you may have seen this already, but here's a link to their main web site for contact info:

http://www.zullo-bike.com/story.html

I ended up getting decal sets from:

http://stores.ebay.com/Cyclomondo

Very nice quality!

Easy to use.

There was a recent thread with some very entertaining and helpful polishing/cleaning info.

Here it is:

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...=polishing+ofg

Again, that was a nice deal for your bike.

I would say that I'm envious, but I think owning three of this brand is borderline zany.

We like what we like I guess.

The next Zullo for me would be a brand new custom build, as I really like some of his new designs as well.

Can't wait to see them in person at NAHBS in Austin.

Cool bike. Zullo showed some very nice frames as NAHBS a couple of years ago - one of which was kitted out in full NOS Super Record (and available for sale).

Great find! My LBS has two red Zullos. They're really cool. I think if either one were big enough for me I'd have bought it by now.

Well I just got the zullo home and I have to say she is quite scrumptious. This is exactly the kind of vintage bike I have been looking for. Did I mention that I was able to air the tires up and ride it?

Now I am researching how to identify what type of campy components it has. I can't wait to get working on it.

Anyone have a reference on good quality matching touch up paint?

For touch up paint, I like to use auto touch up. Any auto parts store should have them, you may have to mix a few reds together to get the match perfect.
Here is an excellent resource for touching up a frame http://www.raydobbins.com/pantografa...er_touchup.htm.

As far as identifying the parts you should look around Velobase.com. Bike Forum member cuda2k has put in a lot of hard work on the site, and it is an excellent resource for information on vintage parts.

I am glad you are enjoying your wonderful find!

This is great info!

Please include lots of pics as you clean up and work on this bike.

They are as scarce as hens' teeth, and they are very nice bikes.

Well worth your time.

Wow: Niiiiiiiice bike!!!

I'd wager all the parts are original to it, too. She looks great already, but will look super-nice when she's all polished up.

What's the ride like?

You guys are great! Wonderful information! I will use this thread or start another devoted to the "build" of this bike.

The ride, is superb! I have never ridden a columbus steel bike before, but this is very nice.

Haha thats really cool that some of you had called about the Zullo from out of state!

It was a pretty neat find. I saw it on craigslist along with some old Cannondales and I liked the looks of the Bertoni so I called the guy up right away and went and met him 10 minutes later (he is a hard guy to get a hold of), it was listed as $300 on craigslist but I talked him down to $250, and the Cannondale (with full Dura Ace 7400 hardly ridden I kid you not) for $100.

Brought them both back to the shop SLPRJP both work at and cleaned them up a little and then when he came into work he had to have it so its his now! I have 2 Bertoni's being built and restored at the moment so I certainly didn't need it! Although with all these complements he's getting I may want it back.... just kiddin!

We're starting our own little vintage road bike club here in Arkansas and its going to be the coolest! I can't wait to see this bike after Jon's finished with it, you should see everything else he touches.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the place is a college storage building and these bikes were LEFT abandoned in storage units. Which was nice because he didn't know what he had!
