Show us your racks!

front racks, to be specific.

It lacks the C&V Seal of Approval™, but it's what I have and it's functional:

who cares about C&V.

One time i put a rear rack on the front, because I'm crazy like that.

Huh, I've always wondered about that, given the number of inexpensive rear racks and the general lack of fronts (especially that match). Any pictures of how you got it to work?

degan 12-15-10 01:54 PM

I've also always wondered how hard is it to put an average rear rack on the front. Does it have any negative effects with weight distribution or steering? (As compared with a rack specifically designed for the front which hangs lower.)

I kinda forget how I got it to attach to the fork, but I probably just bent up a simple l bracket or something. The bike is long gone, though I don't know why because it really was a comfy commuter.

it felt the same as made for front racks. All front racks arent lower though. I have front specific platform racks as well as lowriders.

That's what I figured. Given a rack with a platform like that, I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to drill some holes to attach a strap. Interesting. Good to know that the general geometry works out, too.

^ That Lotus is awesome. Is that a rear rack mounted on the front? You should post pics of those centerpulls in the "Show Us Your Centerpulls" thread.

No, it's a Blackburn front rack.

No way, I have shown remarkable restraint in my postings.

noahscape! you have some seriously nice bikes...

did you make that headlight mount from a piece of handlebar stock? it looks strikingly similar to a couple that i made form handlebar stock:

i've since moved the mount to the nitto rack via a bracket, so it's even more similar to yours.

Not the best picture but I have this one mounted on the Sport at the moment. Not sure what it is as I've only seen one similar like it with lights mounted on the arms underneath.

Yes, I've been using that trick for awhile. In addition to lights, I frequently use it to mount bar-end mirrors on drops with bar-end shifters

brockd15 12-15-10 07:22 PM

Veloria, what mount are you using to attach the Cyo to the rack on these?
