Fred, your Bottecchia SL looks fantastic! Wondering if you exposed more chrome than stock on the rear stays and how did you do it? Was the chrome OK under the paint or was it rough. Did you polish it up and how did it come out? I was thinking if doing the same one day on my SL Chorus Pro so it will be just like my Montello. Just afraid what I might find under the paint.....
Also thinking if painting all the lug windows white...

These two bikes are being temporarily owned by me. Both are too small. I picked each of them up for a very good price. I gave them a complete overhaul and will pass them on to someone else next Spring.

That Carbonio turned out really nice!!
How do you like the ride so far?
I consider mine to be the best handling bike in my stable. You almost just have to just think, and it goes exactly where you want it to go with full confidence. But still not twitchy at all.

I just love this thread. So many wonderful Italian bikes and all so different yet all have that certain 'Italian' flair.
It's a lovely day here and I'm completely inspired. I'm going to get out my Rossin and go for a little ride - thanks guys.

Fenders on a Pinarello
Here is the former Andy Kaylor mid 1980s “Gran Tourisimo” with long campy dropouts and eyelets, but otherwise looks to me like a standard racing frame. It has a Columbus SL sticker and my Chinese digital scale says 23.9 pounds. SKS long board fenders, 2nd generation Chorus drivetrain, normal reach record side pulls, campy retro-friction shifters, 7 speed freewheel, record hubs, clincher rims, and 28mm tires.

On the way home from Eroica, I stopped by another BF member's house to pick up another Legnano, an old Gran Premio. It's a little small, but the tires still held air after 20 years in his shed. I took it around the block, and it still rides amazingly well. He made me a deal I couldn't refuse, so now I am a two Legnano family. I've had my Roma Olympiade since new in '64. It's the one with the red bars, also my Eroica ride for 2 years.

In any case, I'd be curious to hear your opinion of how it rides, considering some of the other great stuff in your collection.
