I wish my NR derailleur was a '67...

Hmmm and hmmm. I wonder how they determined 67? I realize it doesn't have a date, but they didn't until 71 I believe. Is yours dated 70?

1967 was the last year before the Federal crash standards went into effect, so they're very valuable from that standpoint.

Before the grub screw was used as a jockey wheel cage stop (screwed into the spring collar), the spring collar had a simple extension built into the collar. The 67s had this, in 68 a small threaded piece was brazed onto the collar to take the grub screw and around 69/70 the threaded part was actually incorporated into the collar itself once again, by way of the threaded bulge this time.

Made for only one year, it was a rare run.

Yeah mine says "Patent 70" on it. Hey! Maybe it's super-rare and worth $688.00...

It does however have the incorrect jockey wheels. I wonder what it would have sold for with the correct ones!?
