I think the damage is mostly estetic, I put a new seatpost and it seems wont have any trouble with it, but yes needs to be evaluated in person

I bought this as a complete bike a couple months ago for parts I needed for my commuter.

Frame measures:
25" seat tube c/c
23" top tube c/c
About 34" standover w/700 x 25s
Also will include seat post. I have no use for the crank/chain rings/FD, so they're included if desired. The crank arms are 175mm.

Too tall for me. I was considering building it up a a fixie/town bike for a 6'4" friend but he lost interest. I could not stand flat footed over the top tube. I'm about 6' tall, average build I guess.

I'm a little sad to part with it. I think it's a really nice color, but neither myself nor anyone I know has any use for it.

My family and I are now car-free so I'd consider a wider range of frames in trade. My daughter and wife are 5'1" and 5'4" respectively. I usually use a 56-58cm frame (22"-23"), top tube c/c.

Not to jump in on someone else's offer but if you want it to find a good home please tell me more. I have a longtime back burner project of building a vintage bike for "when I feel like it" rides. Never seem to find frames that are interesting and nice enough that fit.

62cm 1989 Raleigh Technium Pre

Looking for something that can fit wider tires, more suitable to some of the gravel riding around here. Most people recommend nothing smaller than 32C. This bike won't fit larger than 25c on 700c rims.

I really need a 62 or larger frame, preferably lugged steel, but I actually don't mind the ride of this aluminum. Slacker seat tube is a bonus, I have a hell of a time with saddle setback.

I used to ride 25" frames, but that was back then and now I am happier with a 23" frame - so this one must go. There are scrapes and chips in the paint, but it should pass the 10 foot test with a little TLC. Needs recessed brakes and is sized for 700C wheels. Rear spacing is 130mm, and I may have the cranks and chain wheels in my stash (no promise on that). Here's what you get:

Maybe cranks & chain wheels if I can locate them

1993 Cannondale H800 frameset (shown built as tourer, with 27" rims here). Probably 7/10 paint wise; no dents. Too small for me, but I tried it awhile as shown. Fits 27" or 700c rims equally well with a small adjustment to brake pads. Canti posts are in that sweet spot. Touring bike rack & fender braze ons, including for lowers on the fork. With 700c rims it's good for tires up 42mm at least. It was going to be my gravel/monstercross bike.

Would like to trade frame/fork/headset/BB for a larger 60-63cm frame with big tire clearance. Old Raleigh? Old Japanese bike? Old French? Big tire clearance is the key here.

I don't know if you are still looking, but do you have any friends with a set of 650B wheels you could borrow for a test? I wouldn't be surprised if you could fit 38-584 on this with different brakes.

Unfortunately I do not have any 650b wheels available to do some test fitting, but it really doesn't seem to be a great candidate. As is very common with lots of late 1980s road bikes, this thing barely has clearance for the 700x25c that are on it now. The fork has a bit of room on the sides, but the chainstays are incredibly close on the rear end.

I actually can't get the rear wheel into the dropouts if the tire is inflated, the chainstays are that short and narrow.

I started breaking down this Motobecane yesterday. I will probably rebuild it and sell, or maybe just sell the frame on cl, but thought I'd post it here in case anyone's interested in a Grand Touring in 62cm. It's dirty in these pix but the paint is in better shape than any of the restorations I've done to date. I can trade the frame alone, or frame & parts (I certainly don't need them!).

I'd be interested in anything half-decent in 56cm. Japanese, US or EU, as long as it's not another gas-pipe Peugeot (I've done so many of those, and still have two in the queue). What I really want is a Motobecane Grand Touring Mixte for someone else. Sold one years ago and still regret it.

Not sure what model this one is, but I'd be game for a frame swap. Paint is pretty nice on it. The problem is that shipping would likely be more than I'm willing to put into the deal.

yeah, the shipping is an issue. I'm going to pass on yours, evn though it's in good shape. It's definitely not a Grand Touring, which had triple cranks and a frame upgrade. I've got four mixtes already, three Peugeots and a Nishiki the same color as yours but made with chromoly. The Moto mixte is for someone else, who is looking for the GT model. I passed on a nice one recently, same or similar model as yours.

Boy, what a pretty mixte! The French knew how to do it right. That beautiful curve in the fork, the side-by side extended down tube with brake mount, the chrome socks. Wow. Seems a shame not to have a nicer saddle on her.

Yes, it definitely needs a new saddle, stem and bars. This is how I bought it, intending to restore it for Mrs. Hudson. She decided she wants a hybrid instead, leaving the future in doubt for Bleu Francais.

I got it into my head recently that I'm maybe missing out on new tech with all my old steel bikes. I bought a semi-recent Trek 7.2, alum with steel fork. What a dog! It never did feel right even after countless tweaks and substitutions. It will be the last alum I ever try. Had to run 38mm tires just to tame the vibration. I finally flipped it and am sticking with vintage steel. My Peugeots may weigh a bit more, but they feel so much better.

And btw, I ride my mixtes too, not just collect them (I've bought maybe 7-8, and am currently down to four). With upright bars (eg Nitto Promenade) and Brooks B67, they are a blast to putt around on. And Peugeot also made 56cm mixtes which fits me perfectly.

I'm happy to report that as a result of this post, I have a trade in progress. I got a frame that appears to be the same model or close enough, and it's my size. The one I got appears to be a bit newer, and it has a carbon fork instead of aluminum, for whatever that's worth. Thanks to @Andy_K for hooking me up with his friend, not a BFer who had this frame which is too big for him. It seems like a perfect trade. We will see soon.
