I have 2 mixte frames that don't fit me. How do we differentiate between "men's" frames and womens or mixte style on the spreadsheet?
|
I added mine. While I was at it, I removed the "cm" from all the dimensions; just didn't seem necessary.
I'd suggest we divide the thing into two areas, one describing the frame(s) we're getting rid of, the other the frame we are looking for. At the moment, the two seem a bit mixed. |

1983 Trek Touring 520 X Large Frame 25.5"
****TRADED**** with Standalone
I saw this thread when it started but it took me a few days to dig this frame out of the shed (we have a lot of snow here). I am willing to trade for just about any "Road" frame 54 or 56 CM. This frame is way to big for me Treks largest Touring 520 frame from 1983, its 25.5 inches or 64.77 CM. using "rhm" chart Frame is A/B Paint is B - needing touch-up and cleaning. 1983 Trek Bicycle Brochure Frame/headset(corrosion)/fork/seat post - I have a box in the shed marked Trek 520 but I don't think there is anything good in there. I bought the bike for the drive train, and most of it is now on my Nishiki. I could arrange Person to Person swap in Hudson WI, Madison WI, Milwaukee WI, Oshkosh WI or parts between(I drive Semi for Menards). Also willing to ship. I don't have 50 posts so I can not IM yet so use email. Pics. http://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/Trek5202.jpghttp://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r...Trek520501.jpghttp://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r...ek520Minor.jpghttp://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r...0ChainStay.jpghttp://i352.photobucket.com/albums/r...SRSeatPost.jpg |
I sure dig that trek, too!
|
Hey Frogbutter, that Trek is gorgeous, and I'm tempted. But it's a leeeetle bit too big for me. You said it's an '83, which I believe, and you said it's a '93, which I doubt... but you might want to edit your post for consistency!

I like big bikes and I cannot lie Those other brothers can't deny... You other brothers can't deny That when a TALL guy rides up with an itty bitty frame It's really such a shame. Ok I will bite. Standalone, Is the blizard over? I would like some pics of the Bottecchia, if your interested in the Trek. You put the size as 54 CM on the spread sheet, is that correct? I would have to pillage my "bike boom" Falcon for parts. lol |
1982 schwinn super spor sp 89-90? schwinn 754
3 Attachment(s)
Super sport 23" 754 58-59cm
looking for 25" touring bike |
I have an offer to trade my Trek but if that falls through
Von Stively convince rhm to bite on one of your frames. 3 way trade. My Trek to you, one of your bikes to rhm and rhms Bianchi to me. I think the Bianchi might fit me better then the Bottecchia and may be easier to paint and find replacement decals. Just an idea. |

Wonder how it'd do as a "cross" bike? I think I'd like something a bit shorter for aggressive riding (save my delicates). I think I have a something w/ C paint somewhere.... (58ish)

Just an idea. Von Stively, tell me a little more about the Super Sport. 58-59 cm frame? Steel? Horizontal dropouts? To tell the truth I was hoping for something a little more exotic, but I'll be the first to admit that's not what this thread was about. Beggars can't be choosers. |

You're welcome to the Bianchi, no one else has expressed any interest.

Well, the super sport is an awsome bike. I would trade for something of equal value. Hoping somebody posts up another complete tourer like the voyageur above, or maybe a complete 520, with cantis. The supersport was above voyageur in the 82 line-up, third in the line. Custom paramounts at the top, a non custom paramount-like, then supersport s/p. $650.00 in 1982. The thing has no rust, no scratches, has the cyclone M-II's Gs500 brakes etc. Tange champion tubing, crome suntour drop outs, original racks(hard to find) even have the 1982 Cannondale panniers from when they onlu made accessories, no bikes yet. |
Looks like I am going to have a men's Raleigh Tourist DL-1 22" frame off a 1978 bike: -- Very good condition (no rust, dents, some minor scuffing..), but no decals. Looking for a Lady's DL-1 Tourist 24" frame (If I find a 24" lady's frame, I will also have the lady's 22" frame to sell/trade.)

I have this repainted (Dr. Deltron) 1984 Trek 760 frame that I would be happy to see go somewhere it would get more use. It's 54cm ctc in the seat tube, 53cm ctc in the top tube. Lugged 531P Reynolds tubing. The paint is rich purple and in outstanding condition, fork ends are chrome. The frame was pretty much a top-of-the-line crit geometry frame when it was made. My Bob Jackson, and Raleigh Team Pro make this effectively redundant in my stable. Would be willing to include the current (I believe original) Stronglight, A-9 needle bearing headset for the right exchange.
I'd be looking for something with at least butted tubing, in 55 - 58 cm size range. Would prefer sport touring, or touring geometry. Willing to consider older frame that's sound, and not in great finish, so don't be shy about proposing a trade. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2019/...db99695a_b.jpg |
That frame is quite elegant - I like it. Unfortunately, nothing here to go up for trade anytime soon.

I've PM'ed a few folks but it seems a lot of people here have a lot of bikes. So I'll ask.. if anyone has anything around 56cm early 80's late 70s road bike (or frame) I'd be willing to negotiate a price and pay for shipping. I'd like to get my hands on a frame for my first build. :) Thanks.

This thread is great.
I have a 52cm highend Olmo frame from the seventies i would be willing to trade for something italian that's more in the 57/58cm-ish area, toptube length seems to be much more important with my body specs... The frame is in very good condition, comes with headset and BB, no decals, one heck of a beautiful forkcrown, it's this one, with added TT cableguides and in blue, and 52cm ST. Really nice frame IMO, bought it for the wife back then, didn't work out, want to get rid of it. http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/olmo1/2.jpg |
Great game ... wish I was on the hunt for a frame. But I need to cross off projects, not add one!
