Hood Color for My Gazelle
So, I've finally gotten some shifters for my Gazelle (10 speed campy Record) and they've come with this lovely set of green Hudz. I have two color options, Bordeaux Gold which is a gum colored hood, or Black. These will be going on black handlebars with black tape and a black lever.

The rest of the components are a mix of black and polished aluminum. The current seat is a cork printed leather which I might change for black. But... it might work with the gum colored Hudz.

Also, if anyone, for some strange reason, needs a set of green hudz, they'll be available soon.

Thanks all. I was thinking gum as well, but I had had previous thoughts about black. My boss also voiced some concern over the gum not working with the funky gold/bronze/metallic olive drab looking colors.
I have brown tape and the cork seat, the more I look at them, the less they look right with the frame. Once I collected some black components, I decided it was going to be necessary to go that route the whole way.
Does anyone else have the same experience with the soft hudz not fitting well? Is this inconvenience worth it with regard to comfort? I've never ridden an ergo/STI bike before and primarily ride the drops. I don't even have hoods on my other road bike. It didn't come with them, I don't ride them, and didn't see the need to drop money into them. So, I have no clue if I should be getting the soft ones or not.

Fit is pretty critical with 10s Ergo. The Hudz V2 cramp the channel for the shifter mechanisms somewhat...the soft ones seem a little worse.
Granted, I only have one example of each.
When you get to the newer Ergo V3 hood shape...it's even more critical, with the little nubs that fit into the ergo body in a couple places.
FWIW.

Are there alternatives to Hudz? If I were going black I'd get actual campy ones as they're cheaper. The gum colored, so far I've only found Hudz.
