Have Constructeur Rack, Need Bag Suggestions
Gang, I bought a Electra Ticino 16d (yeah I know, it's slack geometry and not a real French bike, I get it :-), but I like it! So I have a bag or two that will sit on top of the constructeur rear rack but using a bungee chord or cargo net to make it stay is a complete bust (the bag is smashed beyond it's limits). I would like smallish bags that can be attached to the rack. Small bags on both sides would be great or one that rides on top would be fine.
I'm looking for something that has a classic and not space age vibe. Any suggestions?

Another Berthoud:

at 275mm long it will overhang the rack by about 5mm on each end. I've been seriously lusting after one of these in black for my Gitane. I'd sure like for VO to produce a companion for the Campagne bag like one of these, too.

Here's a budget bag option:
1) Get a cheap but heavy canvas sack that can be used as a roll bag
2) Head out to the thrift store and buy two matching leather belts or go to the pet store and get two large leather dog collars
3) Copy my picture below.

On the bag-rack idea, would you happen to have a homemade idea to fasten the bag to the back of the rack (the part that rises up on the below example).

The small berthoud might do the trick and the dog collar idea might work too. I bought a leather shaving kit type of bag and it's perfect in every way except there's not way to attach it. I thought I might drop by my local cobbler and see if he could add some straps or something to the bottom. I'll let everyone know what I come up with once I'm done. In the meantime check out my Ticino. I'll be writing a review of it soon.

or you can use the original idea and make use of those mounting wholes and fashion a nice screw mount system:

Zimbale makes one that might well work:

It's sold as a front bag, but looks like it'd work on a rear "constructeur" rack as well. Capacity is listed as 2 liters.
