Bottom Bracket sizing help - Medici Pro Strada
2 Attachment(s)
I just got this 70s Medici frame on ebay and started collecting components to mount on it. First up, bottom bracket and crankarms.
Attachment 184494 I found an english thread Campagnolo Daytona BB, thinking it would be a standard size. Lo and behold it's about a mm or two too small in diameter. I've not been able to find much info online about the different BB sizing. Can anyone provide any insight? Greatly appreciated. Here's the side of the BB: Attachment 184495 Text: 1.370"*24 T.P.I Left Lock -> 70Nm |
I think it's an Italian BB is the shell width 70mm or 68mm

Italian. 70.
Medici was an evolution of Masi USA. |
Yep, it's Italian.... Italian measures 36mm which is right about 1.5mm larger than english....

So me thinking italian and english threading were interchangeable was a n00b mistake, eh? Not a good ebay month for me.!

Italian and English are not interchangeable. Medici used Italian bottom brackets on most (if not all) frames even into the late 80's.
