Paris-Roubaix is so hard...

Paris-Roubaix is so hard that I got a flat tire while riding on my trainer watching "A Sunday in Hell". I was about 3/4 of the ways through it when I heard a "pisssssss". I was like you gotta be kidding me. Who in the hell gets a flat on a trainer? I must of caught something in my tire while watching the cobble section. After a quick fix I was back up and going but only to be picked up by the broom wagon to put a whiny tired three year old to bed. That is all. Maybe "Stars and Watercarriers" will be easier on my bike tomorrow night. :roflmao:

You must have been riding a Lejeune. Ever noticed how all the Lejeune riders go out for one reason or another in that race?

too funny!

Don't wear the Hincapie kit. ;)

Just pretend you are with 7-11.
Yep, it's time to dig out all the dvd's.
My favorite p-r is when a doped up Eddy Plankart won the photo finish from Steve B. 1989???
Eddy was riding like a robot.

You don't need that gruber assist on a trainer, really. ;)

'73 appeared a tuff one, its too bad the weather wasnt cooperating when they did a sunday in hell, it was sunny and warm, bah!

thats how it should be!

Aah... thanks for the Monday morning chuckle. I'm hitting the trainer tonight, and my setup is definitely vintage. I'm about halfway through Saturday Night Fever... on VHS.

I havent been on a bike since before christmas. Rode to work today and I am feelin it after just 7 miles

Man, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who gets flats on the rollers. I blame my Grand Bois tires though, the front one has been a bit of a hassle.

Talk about getting in the spirit! Might want to dial it back a bit, lest you fall victim to steer tube fractures next time out. Or ditch the carbon for CrMo.

Sheesh would I be in deep xx if I referred to the missus that way, even in deepest bikie jest!

But I wish I had had that much fun over the vacation.
So on your trainer team, you were the laterne rouge?

Henry III 01-03-11 06:34 PM

Maybe it was my bike's way of saying "well that's what you get for putting this crappy $10 CST in place of the Michelin Pro 3." If I was to ever be a superhero that would be my alterego...The Red Latern instead of the Green Latern" It would be my duty to finish last in every race but never quit.

I was watching that on the trainer the other day. Only got partially through it. Love the shot of Eddy arriving at the team hotel in the light blue leisure suit!

If you want to make it through "Stars and Watercarriers," don't try to follow Fuente when he attacks - you're sure to blow.

My favorite part of "Sunday in Hell" is when Moser bridges up and goes through a pair of French riders like a guillotine through a nice Pierre Robert. Awesome!

I think Eddy is riding Kessels frames at that race - you can see the 531 decals in the scene where they're prepping his bikes.

The first time I watched the movie I was like woah check out those duds on Eddy! I was waiting for some Bee Gee to start playing. lol.

You should use a polygonal roller on your trainer to watch paris-Roubaix.
