Tommasini Sintesi?

1 Attachment(s)
Ok...I know that this really isn't vintage...but it could be a classic someday....:) I have the opportunity to purchase a 2002 Tommasini Sintesi in my size...it has Columbus Neuron Nivacrom steel lugged frame and a Columbus Neuron fork, Velomax Circuit Comp wheels, and an almost full Ultegra group...

I've researched and read good things about this bike, but I value the collective wisdom of this forum, which is why, even though it isn't quite C & V...has anyone had one/has one/...any opinions would be most welcome.

Is Columbus Neuron decent tubing? Also, while the bike is my size...I'm kind of heavy at 230 lbs...would I be too heavy for this type of tubing?

Again...thank you!

Great bike. If it is in your price range and fits get it. The frame should have no problem handling your size. Get some strong wheels (32 or 36 spokes) and rid the rims off 'em.

Neuron is nice tubing. To see where it fits in the lineup, read this article (scroll down):

If it fits, and it's a good price, I'd jump on it like a trampoline.

Thank you all for your input...I've read really good things about them, so I'm excited that this may be a possibility...I should know Thursday....:)

The Sintesi is a nice bike, and should handle your weight fine. It will be a bit more flexy than something with the likes of Columbus EL OS (oversized) tubing, but such a frame would cost a bit more.

Build up some good strong wheels, and you're golden!
