Box of Bits and Pieces...

6 Attachment(s)
Well, the holiday season is behind me, thank goodness, and I have resumed my weekly Dump runs to see what the good people of Thunder Bay have tossed away. There were about ten bikes at the Dump today, mostly junky kids bikes, and one vintage curved down tube step through from the forties or fifties. And...

There was a box, filled with hardened snow, covering a whole bunch of vintage road bicycle bits and pieces - TTT, Stronglight, Campagnolo, Universal, SR, and Italian fork set with Campy ends, an Ofmega crank/ring and some interesting tools, including a complete Mafac tool kit and pouch...

And, for me anyway, a leather covered Bottecchia saddle. Does anyone know what that old plyers like tool is for?

Thank heavens you found it! I SOOO did not mean to leave that at the dump. What was I thinking? I'll just PM you my address and reimburse you for the shipping. So sorry for the trouble.

The pliers thing is not for bikes, it's for wheel weights on car/trucks wheels.

WOW! Good one! I shop at a place like that. Always something that looks like junk (go figure)
Last time I got this and it looked like a truing stand to me. It even stands up by itself. I always find something.

Ya, sure! Anyone can say THAT! However, if you can tell me the color of the snow that was covering the parts, then that would prove the parts are yours. I am a Canadian, ya know. Hard to trick me.

I'm not going to complain at all. You deserve at least that much for living in Thunder Bay in January.

I like that Schwinn truing stand, btw.

Nope but pretty close. Actually, I did get a box full of vintage bicycle stuff one day, and, had that box been full of snow, the snow would have, indeed, been yellow.

The box was filled with Suntour vintage road bicycle display stands, all brand new and covered in mouse urine. With plastic gloves and a face mask on, I cleaned and bleached the stands and have them to this day. I use them often when running a Bicycles for Humanity Yard Sale. And, just to make some of you drool - the bike with the stand, a fully rebuilt/converted Single Speed, sold for $100.00. Everything else pictured sold for either fifty or sixty dollars and all the bikes were in perfect working order, some had been completely rebuilt...

The truing stand rocks. I gotta go cut the front off my schwinn now.

+1!

I forgot what Schwinns were for... but now I remember.
