I went to my local ACE hardware store and bought a couple of nylon washers to try on an old pair of Record shifters, but have yet to do so, though they look like they'll work. The are just a few cents, so cheap enough to try.

I could be wrong, of course, but I just went and looked at two pairs of my Nuovo Record shifters and neither pair has a washer where your diagram of a later Campy variation shows it. Mine are band on shifters. Are yours for braze ons?

Many older shifters had interchangeable parts. Campy, Zeus, Triplex, Ofmega, and even SunTour (non-ratcheted) Cyclone and Superbe shifters were pretty much identical except for the shape and name on the levers.

The postage will cost next to nothing for that part, standard letter post will work.
Scroll halfway down the parts list, past the rims and click on the blue warehouse picture on the right. I'm guessing the part you need is 06' 190 at £1.20 per pair, but you can work it out from the listing.
