Can anyone help me better understand my bike (manufacture date, location, etc.) from my serial number?

It's Bianchi Bici II LS326173

Thanks!

Ian

It's a 1984 model, manufactured in Japan, for the Canadian market. The main tubes should be Ishiwata Magny with hi-tensile forks and stays. The only non-OEM parts I see are the saddle, cable and bar tape, though I imagine most of the other consumables are replacements. Original MSRP, $350 CDN.

Thanks a ton T-Mar!!!! You also have a great eye for sure ... I do still have the original seat somewhere. Do these still sell? I think I will put mine up for sale but do have an appreciation for the market or pricing ... welcome any of your knowledge in that regard too! I am based in Nova Scotia.

Bianchi stelvio - red

I have a red Bianchi Stelvio from mid-89's with serial number of S4623D5. Basically all original with exception of seat post, pedals, and handlebar tape. Anyone able to provide info on where it was made and/or what it might be worth?

This is not the standard Binchi format but I have seen it on a handful of other mid-1980s models. It should an Italian manufactured, 1985 model. Value is highly dependent on condition. Open an new thread in the C&V Appraisals forum and include pictures.

Early 2000s Reparto Corse

Hi,

I've got an Alloy/Carbon Fork Reparto Corse I bought in 2004 off my neighbour who had too many bikes and he said it was pretty good although I didn't pay much for it. I've used it off and on and replaced various components but I'd be interested to know what the original spec is and if I could get replacement decals for it.

SN on the bottom bracket is 0901340315 - stickers say handmade in Italy but various internet forums say this might not be the case.

Another sticker says: "Advanced Aluminum Technology Lite Alloy Double Butted Bianchi Engineered Heat Treated Mega Pro Concept"

It's getting a bit like Triggers broom - Its had new shifters, rims, spokes, chain, cassette, handlebar is chopped and bull horned and spd pedals on it now - but apart from that its all original!

Any info you might have on the origin/spec/value would be appreciated.

Cheers Pete

Please help me identify, recently picked up a celeste colored Bianchi serial number on seat lug 2.L 426 this one has ofmega BB and headset, most of the decals have taken off it does have braze on TT cable guides and gear shift guides. The fork tips and dropout are gipiemme.

My best guess is this a mid level Italian made with Bianchi Columbus tubing 1982?

What do you fine folks think?

It's a 1983, Italian manufactured, mid-range model. Based on the dropout eyelets, it would appear to be a Nuovo Racing, which would be tretubi Columbus SL.

Thanks T-Mar, I remember as a kid I didn't like celeste Bianchi (early '80s). There were so many on the road I felt they were everywhere. I knew that they were nice bikes they had so many versions of almost the same look. Back in the 80s I opted for a Falcon a Rodriguez, and then a Masi. I don't remember what happened to the falcon, still have the Masi and the Rod.

I've decided to go with a custom brown leather wrap with baseball type stitching, I'm also going to switch out the leopard skin seat for a leather to match the wrap.

Hi
Thanks for a wonderful website.
I'm pretty new here but read me about the other and this :)
I am buying this Bianchi bike but want to know if this is a genuine or fack bike from Bianchi.
Know that it's bad, but if it's authentic Bianchi, maybe it's worth it?
Need to know if it's possible to find out what year and type for this bike?

Regard Elvar Eyberg

The frame was manufactured in September 1973 and is late enough in the year that it is most likely a 1974 model. The Campione del Mondo decal celebrates Felice Gimondi's victory in the World's Championship road race, held September 02, 1973 at Barcelona, Spain. It is definitely not a 1972 model.

Regarding the model, it is a Condor style touring bicycle based on the open chain guard and and frame attachments. My 1974 literature only shows two Condor bicycles. Based on the chromed fork blades, this would appear to be a modified 1974 Bianchi Ghisallo.

Hi! I'm looking at a frame that seems like it could be an '88 Specialissima X4 - serial no. D857 on the bottom bracket, chrome chain stays and fork crowns, and rounded seat stay ends with "Bianchi" (and other pantographed Bs and crests) painted in dark blue (instead of gold). But it doesn't appear to have a pantographed headtube and the stickers don't appear original as it has Celeste decals and doesn't appear to identify the tubeset on the Columbus decal. It also doesn't have the wing shaped brake bridge with Bianchi or X4 pantographed. Dropouts are Campy. Did they make any X4s without the pantographed headtube and winged brake bridge?

Sounds like it may be a Columbus SL model. Pictures? Location?

It looks like this frame. The location seems right too. I wonder what he actually paid for the bike if he settled on 250 for the frame.

That is or could be a beautiful townie.

It's not a townie or city bicycle. The Condor or Condorino was a name used for Italian light touring bicycles. While employing an upright riding position like a city bicycle, they typically had a sportier geometry and wider gearing. However, the defining feature were the distinctive handlebar. While many were undoubtedly used solely in urban settings, they were ideal for the short jaunts between Italian villages.

I was wondering if someone could help identify the year of my Bianchi Specialissima. It seems that the serial number is 9.35.503. Let me know what other factors I should look for to better price it.

Just a wild guess but I would say 82-84, is it white or is that just from the camera? Knowing more about it may help, what components are on it? Any other pics?

Thank you for your help! Yes, the bike is white. Here are a few other pictures of the bike. I believe all the other components are Campagnolo except for the wheels.
