Hello easyupbug and yes I had also read about the fact Reynolds themselves advised against chroming 753 . This is not a restoration though and left the Merckx factory in 1988 like this. I did post it on the Merckx owners thread, and though rare it does seem to have been a request by the person who ordered the bike, and Merckx obviously obliged.
Despite the concerns the frame is in excellent condition for its age, so I've not got any worries of it rusting from the inside out or other metallurgy concerns, for now at least. I'm just enjoying the ride and how all that chrome looks in the sunshine, which even here in the UK is making an appearance this week

Botty kayer, thank you. We in the US are all too aware of efforts of corporate lawyers to prevent their companies from being subject to frivolous lawsuits which can cost them $$$, brought by lawyers unrestrained by scruples. On a resent drive through Las Vegas we must have seen 40 billboards advertising these ambulance chasing lawyers who specializes in bringing frivolous if not artificial cases seeking damages for personal injury.

That Reynolds 753 jersey is great! Never saw one before! The use of the distinctive lavender color that is in the decal is a great touch.
My 753 bike is a Raleigh Team, and I really like the ride of the thinner gauge tubes. The use of distinctive team colors ("colours"?) is fun too....
part of the fun of team bikes is the opportunity to collect matching jerseys, which I seem to have done.....
and this isn't even all of my Raleigh jerseys.

My 753 Raleigh Team Pro has moved on to a new owner. I acquired this 753 Lejeune in the last year. It is currently at Franklin Frame getting a TT ding fixed.

Here is my 1994 Waterford 1250. Colorway is Garnet Metallic but it looks like Candy Apple Red to me. Paint really glows in the sunshine. The ride is great too.

Greetings from Australia. Here I present my Soren Son, made in Queensland on the gold coast by Soren (the Danish flag) and painted by his son Mitch (the Canadian flag) , or at least that's how I understand it.
It appears to be made from 753T, which I have deduced from the 27.4 seatpost. This is a big frame, 58 ctc seat tube, and I'm probably 215 currently, so will this be somewhat too flimsy for me? Thanks, regards Sean

Closest I came to owning one was a Minimax frame that was on Gumtree for a while. Very tempted, but it would have stretched my budget at the time and it was arguably a touch small.
If you find a 56, let me know! I'm in Melbourne.

Gazelle Champion Mondial 753
I am too new to post a photo, but look forward to sharing a picture of my Gazelle Champion Mondial 753 bike. Apparently Gazelle was owned for a period of time by TI - same company that owned Reynolds and Raleigh. They had a race shop in the corner of their factory and built 753 frames for ~10 years in addition to the 531 frames. This one has nice workmanship with lovely thinned lugs and lug cutouts that one would expect to see on a more limited production brand. I will share when I get green lighted to post photos.
