New one coming up, picked up 2 near mint Preludes. 1986 Bright Blue (for a friend) and 1987 Midnight Mauve (for me). Needs a bit of tidying up, but is pretty much all original, looks like it was never ridden, although maybe banged around a little bit from some paint scrapes. I'll share again when build is finished.

Look harder. Drive further. Launch when you see a deal, the best deals last minutes if sold on a public site like C/L. They are out there, but often not conveniently located, and often with sketchy information. Lots of other people chasing the same deals, so it can be difficult.

The best deal ever in my area was scooped by another forum member. He called five minutes after the ad was posted, I called five minutes after that. Its how it goes.

For those of you looking for a 25" Schwinn Super Sport SP triple, there's one on eBay right now. This appears to be the same frame as my reconstructed Schwinnger. Early 80's, almost assuredly a Panasonic build, these have some of the nicer, thinned lugs I've ever seen on a production bike of that era.

Here is my 1984 Schwinn Peloton that I purchased Saturday at the Memphis Bicycle Co liquidation sale for $90. Plans are to replace the cable housing with new white housing, but I'm uncertain about the bar wrap color. I was thinking white or black. Any thoughts?

^ If you're keeping that saddle, you may as well go black. More practical, and it'll match.

Not sure, Mid to late 80s. One was white, the other red/white. Both had Shimano 600 components.

Just now trying to catch up on my spring builds. This is an '87 Tempo, bought as a bare frame, paint in bad shape. Had it powder coated by a new vendor, Extreme Powder Coating, in northern VA. They did a nice job on the gloss black with a overlay clear coat that has multicolored (mostly gold and blue) metalflake in it. Think...high end bass boat. Components are almost all NOS Shimano RSX, so 8 speed STI. Crank is a new compact Shimano unit, uses a square taper BB. New hand built wheels using a 600 tricolor rear and Shimano RM-13 front on Araya rims, Nitto stem and bars. Even found another one of those NOS 'Cionlli' Schwinn racing saddles.

Rides very nicely!

Riser bars! Kickstand! Ahhh! It's just a casual rider, not a racer.I'm riding it in to see the local 4th of July parade, bikes are great- no parking hassles!

About 10 years ago I bought this bike for $5.95 at the local Goodwill. I replaced the seat, back tire, and cables. I it was a fun bike. I kind of wish I kept it because I doubt I will ever find a deal like that again lol.

Schwinn Tempo, I think 1987 or thereabouts.

jjames1452 gave me this 1986 Tempo frameset last month, and I'm slowly building it up. I'm just waiting on the remaining components to arrive...
