Brought home my first Italian

I found this Bottecchia on my local Craigslist. I checked it out and the frame is my size, so I picked it up today. I'm not sure about the year (guessing 89 or 90) or the model--hoping some of you can help me out.

It's all original as near as I can tell--all shimano 105 components. I love the ride, though the seat is a touch too high and I can't really lower it any more because of the style of seatpost. I'd like to replace it with something I can set about an inch lower, ideally something appropriate to the bike. Any suggestions in that regard would be appreciated.

Here are some photos:

Cool bike you have there.

Give us a pic of the seatpost when you get a chance.

I'm sure someone here will help.

If it's tight, don't force it. May be incorrectly sized for the seat tube.

I've got a "couple" here that may work if you need to go in that direction.

I think he is referring to the aero section being too tall for him.

It would be fine for me however

Yep, it's the aero section all right. I've got it as low in the seat tube as I can, but I need to lower the seat about an inch and everything will be perfect.
