What do you use for a scale?
I was thinking of picking up this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/40KG-Digital-Fis...item3a61bda150
$4.89 shipped is a damn good price, anyone know if this is complete junk or should I pull the trigger? |

I have this one and it's great! I recently weighed a bike box to ship, and it weighed in at 15.8 lb. Then at the FedEx counter, their calibrated (supposedly) scale confirmed it!

I have a luggage scale that works well enough for me.
|
Scale? If I can pick it up with one hand it's light enough for me. Weight doesn't matter. Strength and conditioning matter.
If I'm shipping, I've got the setup at work. |
It should be good enough and better than most springed fish scales.
I also bought a digital luggage scale and it was also confirmed this year by many airport digital scales to the tenth of a pound. coincidentally, I just bought (last night!) a flat, square digital kitchen scale yesterday made by "Polder" from Costco. Weighed all sorts of component stash last night and it confirmed most weights I previously got using the luggage scale but it's so much easier to use. Chombi |
I have some from Harbor Freight. My wife does a lot of ebay-ing (kids clothes) so we needed a scale for shipping. The fish hook one has lasted ~5 years, and the flat one needed to be replaced after almost 5 years. Pretty good and cheap.

For small things weighing more then a pound I use an old fish scale. For bikes I use an old market scale.
In keeping with the C&V thing. |

Bought the Park scale but don't like the lack of a significant digits of .0. Would like one more and have grams instead of kg. I will likely buy another one for lighter parts to get the higher significant digits.

If I am weighing a bike I go low tech. First I jump on my digital readout bathroom scale and note that weight, then again holding the bike. The difference is the bike's weight.

I always liked G major......
|
+4 I have that exact scale and it works well.
|
I've got a Park DS1 and a Toledo Digital table top scale that goes to 150lbs.
