Make me feel better

I saw this early this morning with no bids a the buy it now of course:

Colnago - blue

It's exactly my size. In fact I have the same bike but mine's red. I REALLY REALLY like the blue. I thought about getting it then making a decision as to which one to keep once they were in my hands.

I waited a few hours, knowing full well it might be gone. I just came back. Someone got it.

Was it someone here?

No, don't tell me.

Yeah, tell me.

Should I have regrets? I certainly didnt need it.

Make me feel better. Or Worse.

Hey I have the same frame also, but in 55cm. If you already have one, you're fine

That seemed like a decent deal for the amazing shape it was in and the hard to find size. But again, you have one!

You effed up, dude. I'd have probably bought the one you decided to part with. I've gotta say, though, that I also prefer the blue.

Eh, whatever. You have plenty of bikes, and nice ones, already. The reason you hesitated was because you knew you didn't need that Colnago.

Do the math:

(my size) + (pretty) + (good price) + (something I don't need) = (something I need)

See the error? You did the right thing. Aside from that, it's a Colnago. You did well. There is hope for you yet!

I had both of these on my watch list even though they were a tad small for me. Now that I am older I think I like looking at pictures of pretty bikes almost as much as pretty women.

The Colnago started at something low like $290 and I was hoping no one else noticed it, apparently wishful thinking. So, you are not alone.

I think I missed this in school. Which grade is this cause I'll know if I was either late for school (ie, 5th grade) or seriously high (college)

I'm not sure if I feel better yet. But that's ok. honestly, if I'm going to own one Colnago, I'd rather have an older one, I think.
Hell, I havent even ridden mine yet so they ride like crap for all I know

my red one won't be shown until I finish building it. Which won't be happening unless I ever go pick up the wheels from KonaaronSnake...

Holiday76, You've forgotten something important that has been posted here several times before: Red bikes are WAY faster!

This might be one of those decisions where whatever choice you make, you regret not making the other. Red is a good color, and you have the red one. Besides, there's no blue in the Italian flag.

Trust me you are better off without it. I have seen your bike shed. Its like the pit in Silence of the Lambs (for bikes):

haha! You should see it now..."Machin Shin" unloaded almost all of his bike stuff on me. I managed to fit about 20 wheelsets, several frames, and a metric ****-ton of small parts in there. It's actually now more organized though because if it wasnt I wouldnt be able to walk in it.

you know what's kinda funny? In the middle of the winter I spend a lot more time thinking about bikes and I do in the summer when I'm actually riding them more. That's always when my garage fills up, when I'm thinking about and buying all these cool things I might ride in the summer.

Then when summer comes I ride the crap out of half of them, and sell the rest in the fall. The winter comes and the process repeats itself.

Now that I know this I can be better prepared for next winter. By buying a bigger house with a larger garage, of course.

I wish I could PhotoShop. I need a pic of Buffalo Bill polishing a Colnago pantographed crankset.

What's funny is that I gave Machin Shin a car load of my unwanted bike stuff last year when he was out of work. Now you have it! Its "box o' crap" pass-around for locals only......

BTW any 130mm spaced wheel sets in there for that cross frame you sold me? Let me know.......

Did he quit riding or something? Did his wife find out how much stuff there really was?

He's moving, but I'll let him fill who he wants in on the details. I believe he did mention another get together in the spring like he did last year (I wasnt there) too. There's some time before he moves.

I've got an interesting frame for you, though it doesn't have the same cachet as a Colnago.
