- And $490 for a Fuji Sagres?! - I sold mine for $165 when the market here was good!

- Let's hope this is the start of a new wave, and that our collections have appreciated enough so that we can all quit our jobs and live in high style, touring the world, and stuffing our mooshes with caviar and champagne. (Or pizza and beer.)

Maybe they decided a Bridgestone RB-1 really isn't worth more than twice a Schwinn Traveler.

Damyn!!! Sweet Deal!!

Maybe I should sell the wifee's Schwinn Traveler that I paid $25 for at the thrift store. It looks to be in just as good condition as the one you unloaded for $450

Dam, I would take $350...

You made an amazing sale! I sold a 1980 Traveler last summer for less than a third of that price, that I thought was about the limit for a bike in great condition:

I think the OP is saying that he sold it to this LBS and they've now marked it up to $450. I don't think any of 'us' could ask that price for that bike with a straight face. And some people would only be comfortable buying from a bricks-and-mortar store, so they can pay for that. Makes our own flips look all the more reasonable, right?

Besides, 'asking' is not the same as 'getting.' With bikes or...anything.

Budget Bicycles here in Madison does this too. I went in one day, found two bikes I was interested in, and as I always do with any mojor-ish purchase, decided to research them before buying. And what do ya know, the same quality of bikes I was looking at for $500 there can be found for $200 on a fairly regular basis. Glad I'm not the type to buy right away...

I wont say but I could of maximized profit by selling thru CL but working 6 days a week there was no time to meet with those interested.
The bike is pretty much in flawless condition and I spent about two hours detailing and polishing her up and looks like the shop made a few changes themslves. (New seat, bar tape, tires). What was interesting is the forged Suntour dropouts.

I wish them much luck!
