Another question - dropout and derailleur

I was organizing the parts closet today and cleaning up the Shogun mixte that I want to build up. I was mentally compiling a list of components I'll need and noticed the dropouts don't have a derailleur hanger or a slot to screw in a derailleur claw.

So, call me a bonehead but how do you attach a derailleur to one of these dropouts. You can kind of see it in the photo.

Yes you do. It's called a derailleur claw, or der. hanger, and 99 44/100% of slant-parallelogram derailleurs use the #4532 claw. Available everywhere, though oddly enough almost never available in aluminum.

The claw makes sense. On the two other bikes I have that use a derailleur claw there's a hole in the dropout that is used to attach the claw with a screw. This dropout doesn't have that hole drilled into it.

...none of my bikes that use a hangar have a hole drilled. you just slide the bolt into the dropout and tighten.

Thread this part onto the bolt that hold the claw in place, then slide it on to the dropout. The claw and this piece clamps to the dropout.

On my bike with a hanger RD there's a screw hole in the hanger, but no hole in the frame. I think the rational is you use a tightened screw in the hanger as a friction lock for the RD's position, much like a b screw. If the frame had a hole, then you couldn't adjust its rotation, its position would be fixed.
