Roadmaster Insanity

Read the entire description. Would Cracker Barrel really pay $1,000? I think not.

Maybe if they've been eating their own mushroom-braised post roast.

There's a Mexican restaurant near me that has that awful 1980's TGI Friday's clutter decor. They have a nice gold Triumph Sports sitting on a shelf above the entrance amid a bunch of other incongruous junk. I recall seeing a nice old balloon tire bike at another joint suspended by big screws through holes drilled in the frame...

Usually with bikes that old, it's been sitting in a barn or a shed for 50 years and most of the mechanical bits are rusted out. Cracker Barrel or any similar organization that would buy an old bike for a restaurant display isn't going to pay much more then $25 for it.

While I think that guy is somewhat full of himself, his $250 asking price isn't out of line, assuming the bike isn't totally rusted solid, and as for display stuff...who knows? I've seen a few instances of (local, not chain) businesses paying that much for a minty cruiser to hang in the window. Actually, a local bar here uses an 80s Robinson BMX (and a very, very nice one at that) as decor on the ceiling.

I'm going to open up a tool themed restaurant and hang saw blades and blunt objects over the entire ceiling.

Call it "The Forge" and hang anvils over the diners...

No, his asking price isn't really that bad. I was referring to the Cracker Barrel remark. He might have meant you had to be smoking crack to ask a $1,000 for it. Which nobody on CL is when they write their adds.

I always assumed the Cracker Barrel decor was manufactured nicknacks from China or something. Would there really be Cracker Barrel corporate employees out at auctions and yard sales every time they need to open a new location?
EDIT:
Gaaa! The old axiom "Think before you speak" needs to be updated to "Google before you post."
