I bought a Bianchi!!
For your examination...My new 1987 Bianchi Premio. https://picasaweb.google.com/1120383...eat=directlink I bought it for $160.00 off CL.It's in great shape with no rust and some minor paint chips.I bought it to flip it but I love the way it feels and rides so if I sell it,it will be reluctantly. All and any comments are encouraged! As well as any input from anyone with personal experience of this particular model.

None. Cables on the brakes or on the opposite side from what I am use to seeing.
|
Looks like you got a good deal. I don't know what the tubing is, but the Shimano, Sugino, Dia Compe components are good mid-range components. I like the color a lot, and it appears to be well-kept. Depending on where you live, I'd say you should make a small profit if you decide to flip.

It's made of "Tange Infinito steel"according to the sticker on the bike.I understrand it is made in Taiwan though there is no indication of that on the bike.
|
I'm not familiar with "Infinito steel", but Tange is well established as a quality Japanese tubing manufacturer. It seems like a very nice bike, and if your trying to guess what it would sell for, you should post this thread to the C&V Appraisal Forum. If it was in my West Coast area, it would probably go for 200-250. I'm not an appraiser however.

Actually says Tange"Infinity CR-MO"Weighs about 25 lbs.
|
FWIW, I believe 'Infinity' was some of Tange's higher-end stuff. But, that doesn't change what I said.
|
Nice! love the sugino stuff
|
Tange Prestige was top of the tier and Infinity was lower end. Not the lowest though, and still a dang good tube set. It was also made in Japan, not Taiwan.
|
nice looking Premio. I love that turguoise color. the Premio was in the sport series and was two models below the Campoine de Italia. the catalog just list it as a DB ChroMoly frame with in SuperSet.
the brakes do look odd but for some reason the three lower models all show the brakes setup that way. the front QR does look a bit funny though. |
Wow!I looked at my other 2 road bikes and yes the brake cables are on the opposite side! Those being Exage and Dura Ace.The QR (QR is quick release isn't it?)looks strange cause there is none.Just bolts and nuts. The wheels are 27inch with shraeder valves.Oops,I guess you mean QR on the brakes!Sorry..

And FWIW, the numbers on Champion tube sets (Champion #1, #2, etc) refer strictly to the wall thickness, not quality - at least 'til you get down to #5 (or was it #4?), where it goes from double-butted to plain gauge. In the butted sets, lower # = thinner walls. SP Bend, OR |

The color is true.As Bianchigirl did most people describe the color as torquoise.I'm actually color blind.

Tange's cr-mo tube sets, in descending order were Prestige (I know, it's not REALLY 4130), Champion, and Infinity. Infinity was a relatively heavy-gauge, seamed, butted tube set. Kinda like Reynolds 501. IIRC, that is.
