Wow, RobE30, you did great. Plus you got that unmentionable deal!

My calves hurt terribly all day yesterday. I figure it was from standing all day.

Sorry I missed you, USAZorro.

Yes, that Schwinn Superior was quite something.

Holiday, who ended up buying your Gios, and why did you sell it?

Tom that was what we were waiting for when we were all packed up in the cars and about to head over to Rob's.

I think A dude followed Holiday out to the Parking lot and as he was hoisting the Bike up on his Rack the guy broke out the Ben Franklins.

Thanks! Since the bike made it through it's potential "cut", it shall now be reborn with a different drivetrain that has yet to be determined. I have two projects that are farther up the food chain that I need to get done before I tear into the Free Spirit. I think this bike will inadvertently stay with me forever. It's sort of like the proverbial 3 legged one eyed dog that follows you home....

Does anyone know the name of the "shop"/private house a few blocks away from the Velodrome on Hamilton Blvd? He sells those old vintage balloon bikes and had a bunch of the on the side of the road.

I don't know the name but he's a really nice guy although his prices are a little high considering the condition of those bikes. If you want a ladies cruiser with a 3 speed he's your man.

I didnt ask his name, but he came over a few times during the day and made me low ball offers. He'd come back and up his offer by 50 bucks and I'd repeat my minimum offer. As I was literally driving out of the velodrome all packed up he came running over with the correct amount. It wasnt my original asking price from earlier in the day but it wasnt too far off other. It was well above what I had in the bike.

I sold it because I got a good price for it, because I don't need it, because it was really too large, and it didnt hurt that I got laid off from my full time gig a month ago and liquidating part of my bike collection isnt a bad thing....

However, remember the woman who purchased that red and creme Mercian for her brother ? We've been chatting the past few days and I might end up with it.

Oh and , I guess it's time to update my sig.

"Trexlertown Collectibles" at least that's what he used to be called. He gets some cool stuff in from time to time but his prices are usually too high and he pays squat. I bought a few bikes off of him, nice enough guy though. If you want something, PM me and I'll be happy to help out

@ Holiday, you're right

Are we talking about the guy by the convenience store that puts the bikes in his yard or the father and son operation just past the traffic signal at 100 and 222?

Both of these guys have been doing this as long as I can remember.

@ Holiday, you're right
His prices are really high, I tried negotiating a little but he won't budge!

I only stopped at the one further (east?), i.e. - further away from the velodrome. Could have been father and son, is the father a chained smoker?

Maybe. I didn't see him smoking when we were there. They're just past the traffic signal.
They have three garages with bikes in them. Mostly middleweights and low end ballooners. They had some BMX and mountain bikes sprinkled in too. Pretty neat little operation. I see these guys at a lot of the swap meets. They seem to like middleweights, ballooners, and off brand muscle bikes that are cheap or reasonably priced.

45 or an hour. I can also be at rhm's place in about an hour. In fact, I was thinking New Hope area again might be a good central point for a lot of us. I believe we all met there in '08 or '09 as well.

Yup that's them. The old man smokes like a chimney. I was eyeballing a decent looking Rudge he had there but talked myself out of it. The Schwinn MTB he had might be coming home with me though

Tried sending you a mail, that's the bike I was interested in too! My car was just too full but I'm still interested in the bike. Think you could help out?
