Hoshi Bladed Spokes: The Lowdown?

Anyone have an opinion they want to share? Considering them...why, why not?

I have a Record/Araya Aero4 28h tubular wheelset radial front 3X rear that have stayed true under my 200# butt.

Plus I don't know anyone else in my area that have 'em. That's worth something by itself.

Nice...by any chance do you have a pic of that bike with the wheelset?

Heard of them while shopping around for my aero wheel build last year. Aren't they the one with the "S" bend at the hub flange instead of the regular spoke head which makes slotting the hub flanges unneccessary? I only heard of positive things on the Hoshi's but I think they are not that easy to find. I went with DT Aerolite oval spokes instead as I was not sure how good the Hoshis will look at the hubs.

Battery's charging right now - gave the camera a real workout at work today - but I'll try to take some tomorrow.

The bike needs a proper BB right now. Have any Campy thin or Stronglight English cups to spare? :)

Yep, super wide blade, too.

I recently saw an old 105 hub laced radially with Hoshis, either 32h or 36h. I thought it was incredibly weird looking.

Ok, the reason I ask...three choices for my Opus IV wheels:

1) Hoshi bladed spokes all around (bling factor)
2) DT Comps DS, DT Revs front and NDS (weight factor)
3) Hoshi Aero Stainless NJS spokes (cool factor, http://www.tracksupermarket.com/inde...roducts_id=430)

All about the same price. In #3 spokes would have to be trimmed, have an e-mail in to them asking how short they can get.

Opinions?
