Well it will be great to see pics of once you get all setup for yourself. Also, From what I have seen of Bianchi geometry it tends to favor shorter stems due to longer top tubes in the later Eighties to mid Nineties.

great Bianchis. between my Sport SX and the Proto there was the afore mentioned '88 Supper Leggera whos frame broke and most of the parts went to the Proto. my next Bianchi was my '93 Project 3 mountain bike. unfortunately the only pics I have of it are dressed out as a commuter/ Rail Trail bike. Tange Infinity MTB tubing (in Superset) mostly Shimano Exage but some Deore LX and XT mixed in for some reason (supply?) and a Sugino Fusion crank. he current wheels are Matrix Cosmo (free from the Trek Rep in '94) with n o name shimano hubs and Avocet K20s 700x32 (I think can't really read them anymore)

I have a soft spot for red decaled Bianchi's. Before I purchased my bike I almost bought a 97 alloro just because it as the red decals. The dolomite that Bianchi produced the last two years had the red decals but it was WAY too much money. One of these days I will find one of those two used.

Bianchigirl was very close to guessing with 94. I pulled the seatpost which moved freely(WOOHOO!!) and found the date code
in the saddle. The little circle said 94, with the arrow pointing at October. The month I was born, which is pretty cool

I LOVE that bike! a Turquoise 1987 Volpe, I test rode the one we had for sale in the shop a few time but the boss never let me buy it 
I like what you did with it, sometimes it is more important to make a bike fit your needs and comfort than to keep it original

Not old enough for this forum, but I guess it qualifies for this thread. It's the smallest road bike that I ride, but it is a favorite. Nothing fancy, but it works well for me. If I can ever source some celeste plastic fenders, it will be close to perfect. I forgot, But BG once told me what year, I think it is 99?

Since I have noticed a few new Bianchi owners in the last few months I decided to hunt down this thread a revive it.
Shortly after buying by Project 3 I left the bike business and although I kept riding I did not buy a new bike for a few years. in '99 I ordered a Ti Bianchi frame and specced it with Record 8spd ergo. I really wanted the early Ti frame with the huge DT but they were long gone, and I would have to wait another 10 years for one
I guess I need some new pics of this. I made a few small changes, new stem and Chorus style brakes, I also seldom use thos Mavic wheels. I am not sure what it is but something about this bike never WOWed me. perhaps it is me and the larger size of the frame but it always felt dead compared to other bikes I had ridden.

This is an eBay find that I built up with a Shimano 600/ultegra group off my Bottecchia. The seller listed it as an 1989 but I'm not sure as this is my first Bianchi. The frame is in great shape, only a small amount of chain clatter marks, the rest is mint. As the story listed, the seller purchased it from a friend who had the frame delivered straight from the factory to sub while his other Bianchi was repaired. Rode a few weeks then back on the hook. It looks it or it's a respray.
