THATS IT!!! when I looked at your post I just knew there was something different about this compared to a stock '87. you put the nonaero brake levers on it! now I recall the make over thread.

Nice Alfana turned Virata. they shared the same frame but the Alfana came with 105 the Virata with 600.

Thanks! I almost hate to admit that it is a Giant aero carbon from about 2000. I wanted a threadless carbon fork so I used it. I was able to match the paint and clear coat it. It came out looking really good. I like the fork with the aero wheels and seatpost. The 3T stem weighs a ton but I really like the look of it on this bike.

the stem looks perfect with the seatpost. who cares what it weighs. the only thing that would make the bike better is some campagnolo veloce 10spd in silver.

I like that Alfana. Those brifters make me quiver a bit. DT or Veloce silver. Normally I don't care for threadless on non MAX bikes but it works well on yours.

Y'all are making me feel bad about having 600/DA on my '96 EL/OS (thanks tmh657, this is a hell of a bike)! Campy....one day. Also, pictures one day. Gotta borrow a camera.

Not factory paint. I stripped it down and painted the black areas. It is a 1994 Bianchi Trofeo. I swapped off parts that were campy 8 speed (read...getting too expensive for a beater bike) and substituted those parts with random shimano parts that i had lying around. I still have the campy crankset on the bicycle. The rings, campy also but i have a batch of Campagnolo anodized damaged rings that i got for a bargain. So i taped off the teeth, prepped the rings and sprayed away. It's a Freak!
And my collection of Bianchis stands currently at 6. the pictured one, an SBX built up C-record bicycle from early 90s that i raced with. A 97 Bianchi Alloro. A 92 Bianchi Project 5 bicycle that was my father's bike, he passed in 09 and i am still rocking that cross off road! And i have the last year made cro-mo cross bike, with the curved chainstays and lugged...and last is a Bianchi, i believe it is a Milano cross bike that my dad had. I have it built up with wooden fenders and it is a coffee cruiser type bike.
love my Bianchis! Love this Thread!

lovely Alfana! I always loved Bianchi's line up. The Axis was a killer crosser! Does anyone have any Axis pics?

More Bianchi goodies...I added many various Bianchi photos to my photobucket album.

My 1992 Bianchi Project 5

My Bianchi Alloro, correction. This is my SBX with my Zonda rims. My alloro might be at the end of that line...Please note in this photo. The true biker...bikes cost far more than my Ford Escort!

that's more like it,now how 's it done?..need to take better pics minus that black ritchey seatpost and if it didn't shift so perfectly i would put the alloy record dt guides as the final bling. It really is a fairly rare model at least I haven't seen another like it on the bay in years of watching.I scored it via the colorado craigslist and a good samaritan from CR who purchased and mailed it to me
