I finally found that high end celeste Bianchi I have been looking for. Its not in my hands yet but should be in a week or so. An '83 Super Leggera/Specialissima. The story is that it was built from a NOS frame and has only 200 miles on it. More pictures when it arrives.
Interesting, can't wait to see more.

I figured as much. I checked ebay completed auctions and the only thing quattro was a pair of shifters that didn't even sell for the $3.75 starting price.
One day I might have to change my name to bianchiboy, but that day is far off, my collection is nowhere near as large as yours BG.

I just looked and the frame does have a superset sticker on it, It also has a Cromor sticker on it. The superset it just the dt and chainstays, correct? It was to increase stiffness, no?
Correct All Bianchi starting God knows when have had SuperSet frame but '93 or 94 introduced the SUperSet2 with that ovalized DT

This is my Bianchi which I purchased as a frame-set around 1988 in Calgary, Alberta I built it up with Shimano 600 and Campi Victory components and at a later date added Campy record components. It is Bianchi Fomula 1 Columbus tubing whatever that may be would be very interested if anyone had any idea as to what it is?

Nice looking Bianchi. Are those Athena cranks?
Only Bianchi and Possibly only a few people there really know for sure. T-Mar and have discussed this and the likely TreTubs SL with Alle stay type tube set that is custom drawn for Bianchi in the SuperSet design. SuperSet is Bianchi name for using a heavy for guage DT and chainstays to stiffen the BB area to make the bike climb and accelerate better but still give it a soft ride. Most bike that were specced as SL/SP throughout are very likely SL frames but with SP DT and CS. Hope this helps

Bianchigirl, can you date my bike? It has 7 speed Rsx stuff.
I rode it with friends 55 miles today in rural PA. Yup, it's a versatile bike. Very comfortable and extremely confident handling. If I had to own only one bike, this would be it. What a sleeper of a bike this is. It wasn't even expensive.

Here's my contribution. I bought it several years ago. It's made in Italy and has mostly Campy Mirage components and Avanti brakes.
A couple years ago, I had a local shop built a new set of wheels using the Campy hubs. I went with Mavic 719 rims, big ol' spokes and Armadillo tires and have had ZERO issues with them. We live in a historic area and a number of streets have brick roads. I'm afraid to ride other road bikes on those streets but since the build and after the 100 mile re-true, I've had zero need to have them trued and zero flats.

Just picked two early 90s Bianchi Brava last night.
They are mid-level bikes based on my knowledge, but they'll be great for me and my girlfriend. Got them for what I feel was a very good price considering their amazing condition.
A bit of backstory: The bikes were sitting in the guys garage for the past 21 years, and they were in immaculate, amazing condition - except for a few scuffs on the top tubes from them being hung on unprotected metal hangers.
Columbus Cromor tubing on both.
The equipment on the larger bike is Shimano Exage brakes/400EX derailleurs, Ambrosio wheels, Shimano cranks/chainset.
The smaller bike has Shimano Exage brakes, Sport LX derailleurs, Fir wheels, Shimano Sport LX cranks and chainset.
Since they've been sitting the tires are all rotted - so I'm looking for some recommendations on replacements if anyone has suggestions.
Sorry for the terrible low-light pics, just wanted to get this in here for comments.
I'll get the bikes out in the sun in the next few days and edit the post with new photos....

Posted in another thread, but I'll repost it here. I borrowed my twin brother's Bianchi to try out modern drivetrain components, as I had never ridden a bike with Ergos/brifters. Hopefully he doesn't mind me posting a pic of it
I believe it is an '80s Trofeo frame, SL superset (though I haven't read the Columbus sticker), which he had a local frame painter repaint, equipped with Campy Record 9 speed and Velocity rims. Salsa stem with Cinelli bars.

A repaint? Well the decals are only as good as the pride of the painter and what your brother insisted he put on.
If the frame is indeed a late '80s it would be Alle or Bianchi special tubes. Nice looking Bianchi though.

^ I believe he said it was an '85 Trofeo frame. I would guess the decals match what was on there, but I never saw the frame before he had it painted, probably 2000 or so. I'll look tonight to see what tubing set it has, but I though he told me it was an SL/SP superset. The painter was a local framebuilder. I'm enjoying the ride, though truthfully the frame doesn't feel much different from my '73 RRA. Laterally stiffer, and steering is a bit different.
