^ Correction: It is an '84 Trofeo frame. My brother said the framebuilder who did the repaint got the Bianchi decals from the California Bianchi warranty rep (or something like that; at any rate they are sourced from Bianchi) and they were an exact match for the originals. The Columbus sticker that was used is the repaint sticker, but the frame is the SL/SP superset. The paint used was Dupont Imron, with a touch of silver and blue added, as well as slight pearl. Guy did a nice job on it, probably around 2000 or so.

The frame is a dead ringer for mine except for the decals which I bought as a frameset in the fall of 87, the same drop outs and braze ons see it on page 11

What is special about vintage or "late model" Bianchi's? Not trolling! Honest question, on the tangible, objective side of the discussion -what makes a Bianchi frame so popular? I'm asking 'cause I'm starting to research for my n+1 sometime next year. Might get a used bike and put up to date components on it or buy new. Haven't decided yet.
(Hey, I think mid-high grade Sekine's are great because I own one, but that's just me, so I do know the love for a brand..)

It depends on the model year of your Super Leggera. I would look on Ebay for the guy from Austrailla his are a pretty good match.

I would have to disagree. They may be Bianchi decals but they do not look correct for a '84 Trofeo wich I am not even sure there was a Trofeo then (and I can't look it up for a few weeks). A script model decal was only used in '87 and an 84ish through 87 decal would have the "flag" style with a slight shadowing. Also as stated a Trofeo would more than likely be a Bianchi Special or Formula type tubing. SL/SP mix would be reserved for Super Leggera and Mondiale models.

bianchi

Here is my Bianchi, unsure of model and or year. It is a little too big for me,hence the shortest stem known to man.

Great looking Bianchi. I believe those ELs were offered (as frame or complete bikes) from about '92 to 95 or 96 until supplies were exhausted.

I'm sure you are correct. He did show me the sales receipt for the frame which said it was an '84 (some small dealer in CA), but I never saw the bike until much after the repaint. It does look very similar to the one that callig posted.

1987 or 1988?? Trofeo. Just picked up off CL yesterday. Needs a good tuneup, cleaning and new tubulars before she looks pretty.

If it makes you feel any better, I missed out on the Klein if you bought it in Brick. The Paramount I got was only $75

Hi Von this is an '88. The tubulars are not stock but looks like a nice set of wheels. Becareful with the cranks I stripped mine trying to rush the job.

OH something looks amiss here. Seems just the front is tubular?? The back wheel looks like a stock FIR

it looks like we are the most vigilant CL folks in jersey - too funny - enjoy your bikes!
you're right - that fixie was 75$

edit: btw - we are not alone - guy i bought the klein from said he had about 20 responses in first hour

funny thing - there was a klein MTB going for 125 i think next day - so that guy emailed me back raising the price due to the overwhelming response he had gotten

then there was a 50$ bianchi i saw down in egg harbor last night - (i wasnt making that trip from CJ) but that disappeared as quickly as it went up
