An SLX frame with Athena (assuming the group is OEM) would be an '89 [and I believe carried over to '90 with whatever was left]. I suspect the decals wer peeling and someone just ripped them off. They were nice machines and I would love to try one for a few months. I had the '88 in SL w/ Chorus and it was really nice.

I somehow came upon this thread looking for a reference for another post. I started about page 5 and came up to date. Very beautiful and sexxy Bianchis posted here. I also think I need to post one of mine again if I may.
I got my '88 Grizzly in the fall of '09 and despite several tries I never seem to get a good full view pic of it. Also after using to run errands this past spring I have come ot the conclusion that it might be a bit too small. I will likely never use it for aggressive MTBing so a slightly larger frame may be needed.
Anyway here are a few pics Oh well my computer is acting up and I can't access my thumbdriver so you only get pics from the seller for now.

Holy beautiful mountain bike! A Bianchi Mountain Bike is in the lineup for my "I want" list. Beautiful bike.

I'm also excited to be posting a completed vintage bike here shortly. But first, since I've so many Bianchi fans in one place...I'm a little new to vintage Bianchi's..can someone help me identify the year of the frame that I just bought?
The seller listed it as a "CICLI EDOARDO BIANCHI VELOCE FOR CAMPAGNOLO COLUMBUS STEEL FRAMESET" from the 80's with ITB number 2617. Does anyone know what ITB stands for?

Check for markings on the BB spindle I suspect it may be a Victory or Triomphe model and could shed some light on what the OEM setup was.

It was on my list for quite a long time. a NOS frame slipped through my hands in '90 but I just could not afford to build it at the time.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the insight on the frame. Were the Victory and Triomphe models pretty decent? This frame is replacing a beloved Volpe that met with an unceremonious end the other day...so it's going to be a commuter/touring frame with some old man mountain racks on it.

I've gone back to page 5 to re-visit your posts in this thread hoping to see your Bianchi family group shot but, alas, no family group shot. Don't they get along? Is there some sort of family jealousy or drama happening? Or is it just too hard to get them together in one place?
I've seen individual photos or a couple of family members together in the one photo but I can't recall ever seeing them all together. Is it possible to round them all up for an up-to-date group photo? Please. I hope I'm not asking too much.

I think the designers at Bianchi consistently get it right but, in this case, you really have made a stunning, yet simple improvement. All orange Boarala's should be re-called to make this simple aesthetic up-grade. Congratulations, what great vision.
