An appeal for Framesaver
I don't know what's going on, but no one, and I mean NO ONE in the DC area has, or can get, this magic goop. I am getting ready to leave in a month for my european assignment, but convinced a cycling buddy here to buy into the bug. We found him a gorgeous 58cm NOS P'rello Stelvio on the 'bay, and the Campy goodness just flowed from there. Now we have the whole kit (and the polished aluminum kaboodle) but can't start the build until we have the super-juice.
I even tried calling the best shops in the Portland area, and no dice. Everyone is out, and no one can get any as there's some sort of supply issue. Can anyone on here help a brother out? I would be willing to pay + shipping and any reasonable surcharge for this newly-valuable commodity. Maybe the unrest in the middle east has trickled down to Framesaver? Who knows. Please, if you can help me, drop a line. I plan to do a full photo post of the P'rello build...if I can ever start the process! Thanks in advance guys (or gals, for sure!) |

Yeah, I know the alternatives. Hate to go el cheapo on a real nice frame though. I have tried some of the others (Boeshield for one) and really didn't think it had the same perma-tacky feel after the solvent dried. I may be forced to though.

Supposedly Treefort has it.

+1 on the Boeshield, it is NOT a compromise in any way.
I have even used WD40, it works fine. vjp |
Mr. Weigle himself was selling very large cans of it a few weeks ago at the Dudley swap meet. If I knew there was going to be a shortage I would have stocked up. Maybe try reaching out to him? Though I'm not sure how accessible he is...

I just use Rust Check.

Personally, I think Weigle's has been using Boeshield T-9 re-packaged. Maybe a hair thinner than Frame Saver, but seems to be about the same stuff.

Not to hijack but.... I've got a frame I want to treat also. What is the technique? Say if I were to use the Boeshield. Simply glug, glug, glug into the frame, shake and drain. Let sit??

I ordered and received some from Treefort in January.
