According to the seller it's a p-13 9 and a 1974. Also according to the seller it's never been ridden, in PERFECT shape and was owned by a recently deceased and prominent jazz musician. I'll have the name tonight. I tend to think he has the model right since he has a manual for it.

The cable guides don't jibe with 1974 though...I would have expected clips. Also would have expected campy calipers, and those look like weinmanns.

For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure it's my size, which would put it in the 58-60 cm range.

There are too many people who have been doing this longer than me saying it's larger than I think. I feel comfortable saying it's larger :)

Apparently my judgement was wrong, it often is. I'm still looking at the headtube and thinking 56 (shrug). I'm certain I'm wrong, but I'm not seeing it. It has to be the slacker angles.

Good luck...if it's as nice as the CL ad said...along with the tool bag and manuals...you certainly won't lose any money on the deal if you decide it's not your thing, or too large for you....it seems to be priced fairly.....

Thanks johnny...that's exactly what I think. It's fairly, slightly low, priced. It's not a steal, but I can't see myself losing on this. The tools alone are quite valuable as I understand it.

The other clue that it would not be a P-13 would be the eyelets for fender/rack mounting on the the top of the rear dropouts (can't tell if they are there on the front fork). Notice that my '71 P-13 lacks the eyelets and the top tube braze-ons for the rear brake cable stops.

It would be easy for an inexperienced seller to ID the one you are looking at as a P-13. I misspoke when I asked if it was a P-12. Should have called it a P-10-9 since it has a double crankset. The P-15-9 came with the triple.

The P-13 had no eyelets, tri-cable clamps on the top tube, and Weinmann centerpulls in the catalog.

That helmet is so cool, they were trying to make it look like hair!

The cable guides do match better with the p-10 above...though I don't see the eyelets on the rear of the alleged p-13 9. I'm sure you're right, I just don't see it. The ST slant also seems a better match for the P-10. I'm also not seeing suicide levers and the brake levers look like campy to me in the photo. Hard to say with photo quality, but they don't look like the p-15/p-10s in the catalogue. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there could be variance here because many of these were custom made to rider preferences.

I'd have assumed he was right because he had the manual.

Hopefully I'm not violating site rules, and I am a paid member. My purpose for asking this isn't to sell (it isn't mine now!), but I am interested in gauging interest. Assuming this is too large, are there folks here who would be interested at the price I'm paying? He's asking 1,000 firm. I'm asking because I have a pretty good idea it's not going to fit, and if no one is interested, I'll probably pass. Supposedly it's never been ridden, immaculate and comes with the tool kit.

If there's someone here that this would work for, I'd be more willing to walk away with a bike that won't fit.

For a grand, I'd also want a pair of those white shorts like the catalog shows. I'd need the belt, too.
