I'm thinking of putting some gold bar tape on a (don't worry, non-c&v) bike. Has anyone used it? How did you like it? I'm a little concerned with comfort. But look at it, its so shiny...

I bought some of the silver Ambrosia tape, which is similar to the Cinelli from PBK awhile back and used it on my Trek. Not as much cushion as cork or as grippy, but certainly softer than cloth tape would be.

Making the bars ready was one of the early stages with my Vittorio Strada project.

I had gold tape on one my bikes. It clashed, so I switched to something else.

looks good on some, not on others.

I'd say it goes well on this masterpiece

Just go for it, in the end it's just tape and you can swap it out if you don't like the result.

I have some of that carbon look stuff in gold, ended up looking like that pnarello up there, another words terrible, it doesnt even look gold, or carbon for that matter more like "tan snake skin". For those people who like the "old man" look as i like to call it = brown seat brown leather handlebar wrap, would probably dig it.

I have a high threshold of tolerance for gaudiness in Colnagos, but even I can't stomach that bike. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. It goes beyond bling straight to tacky.

I agree way too much gold. I like that Vittorio Strada posted above though.
