What do you guys know about this Panasonic?
I just picked this up the other day. I have never seen a Panasonic like this before. Google has turned up little. It was custom ordered. I can tell that much. What do you guys know about it? What was original equipment? I'm sure T-Mar will have something to add.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.

Looks nice!!!
I would guess it was the top of the line at the time, sold as a frameset maybe? So the original equipment may have been whatever the buyer wanted.
That is just a guess though.

I know Panasonic used to have a special order program which was mainly linked to the paint: If a certain color or style became too popular it would be discontinued. This meant that a particular color scheme may have at most 200 units or so. This covered just about all their bikes from mamacharis (standard issue Japanese single speed) on up.

Why the "Titanium Technology" label? I believe Panasonic make a titanium frame. Can you tell if it is paint over Ti?

Seeing the Japanese language decals make me think that it may be a Japan market bike.

Unbelievable. The paint, the TI, the different-color-in-different-light Panasonic decal, just wow. And for whatever reason, this really does it for me:

The wheels have a blue-ish hue to them, which I thought was neat. Also, did anyone notice the number hanger on the top tube? I'll tell you this...the inside of the seat tube is shiny as can be.
Update: The only part of the frame a magnet sticks to it the fork. The magnet sticks to every one of my other steel framesets like a champ.

Pretty slick bike. See it has Shimano 600 tri-color along with first generation STI.
I'd date the bike at '91 maybe '92.
Good score

That is one snazzy paint job. Sort of reminds me of looking at clouds in the sky on a moonlit night.
