Which should I buy? Trek 600 vs Schwinn Varsity

Hey guys, I'm new here so I really hope that this can help me out. In the next couple days I'm looking to buy one of these two bikes and I need your opinions on which I should get. One is a Trek 600 for $75 and the other is a Schwinn Varsity (I think) for $100. Neither of the sellers know the year of their bike. The Trek 600 isn't as eye-catching as the Schwinn in my opinion; however, I've read great things about the Trek but I haven't been able to find much about the Schwinn. Below are links to the two bikes so please tell me what you think or what you know about the two bikes.

they are different sizes. Buy the one that fits.

I have a blue Trek 600 Series, 1985. A good sport touring model, full Reynolds 531 frame and fork. Definately the higher quality, lighter weight bike.

While the Schwinn Varsity is certainly a more iconic piece of Americana, that Trek is going to be lighter, have nicer components and is more unique. I would go with the trek in a heartbeat.

JPoe12: The price for the Trek sounds way reasonable. I hope the seller isn't joking. And the best part? "Will consider all offers." If you buy it, post a pic!

I'm pulling into the guy with the Trek's driveway right now, cash in hand! Just kidding, but I would be if I were anywhere near it! If the Trek is in good working order, and you ride a 23"/58CM frame, go for it....ASAP! Once you have it, post any and all of your "how do you fix or upgrade this" questions here. If it isn't a wreck, it is a really nice bike for somebody who wants to do some riding. If you need the Varsity's frame size, what the heck. Hope you score that Trek...may even take less than the $75! Hurry!

$75.00 for the Trek?

Buy it just to buy it, that's dirt cheap.

...the trek was sold. I called the seller earlier today and she had already sold it. But, not being down and out, I stopped by the Schwinn seller's house and the bike fits perfectly and he's the original owner. It's still in great shape with all original parts (except brake pads) and the only reason he's selling it is because he's "getting up in years" and had to get a comfort bike. I'll be picking it up Monday. I know it's not the best bike, but it definitely blows my current Walmart bike out of the water (not to mention I love the green color). Thanks for the helps guys and I'm sorry I couldn't snag that Trek.
