1985 Team Fuji

I still have to take it for a shakedown ride, but I completed this bike late last night. I received it as a well used frameset from a friend. I built it up using mostly Suntour Cyclone components. I installed 700x25 Pasela TG tires on Araya wheels and a Miguel Indurain Turbo saddle. The jury is still out on the bar tape, the brake hoods, and on the shifters.

She's had plenty of miles on here and has some battle scars to show for it. Should make for a nice riding bike. She certainly ain't no garage queen.

That black paint on the top tube is how I received the frame. The original owner banged it up right after he bought it new. He filled a small dent and, knowing he could never match the Flamingo, he painted it black.

Thanks. I was trying to emulate the OEM tape.

Cool bike.
This is the only thing I'd change. Concor, perhaps?

Thanks. I know it doesn't color match but I got it cheap enough to use till I find something I really like. I may even swap a saddle from one of my other bikes.

I kind of like mine, think its an 86. Yellow and blue, been banged about a bit. In fact looking at these pictures I took yesterday on a ride I see its time for some serious tlc.

Cracked 1000 since about Jan on it.

And this is not my fastest speed ever, but not bad bombing down a hill on a 25 year old bike.

You should have a lot of fun on it.

I thought I would post an update on my Team Fuji.

I couldn't get the Suntour brake hoods I needed, and didn't like how the Cane Creek hoods looked, so I replaced the levers with Tektro aero levers. I think it looks cleaner and I find the Tektros to be much more comfy and more powerful, too. I also rewrapped (again) the bar tape and I think it looks much better. A friend gave me a modern Fuji water bottle.
