Your previous post implies that those who didn't get the humor are less aware (i.e. stupider) than you are. And since I fall into that category ;), I had to look up self-righteous:
— adj
having or showing an exaggerated awareness of one's own virtuousness or rights

Also, I don't think anyone has been called out for anything. Some actions have been questionable and opinions reflected those questionable actions, but I don't think anyone was labeled anything.

Tugrul, can you lighten the mood again?

if you turn down a higher offer, you have lost money. that is an expense. even if you don't care...

the time spent dealing with the other buyers is another expense...

It wasn't "at his expense" because it wasn't inflicted by the buyer. Your choice of language implies that he was taken advantage of. I disagree.

It would only been an "expense" if the seller took a loss on the bike. Sellig it for less then he was going to sell it to someone else isn't an expense.

In any event, I hate this thread now. Thanks guys...

Let's get a couple of things straight. I never asked to the seller to hold the bike. I committed to the sale and guaranteed him that I would buy it at his 100% asking price. He was kind enough to hold onto it because it was a full price sale. He didn't have to endure lowball offers or tire kickers coming to his house. It was his choice to honor this. If he would have called me and wanted more I would have told him to go for it.

I have to ask those who feels that I am a creep or less than honorable. If the bike is clearly worth more than the asking price, do you offer more then what the seller is asking for it? Isn't it immoral to take a bike from someone when their asking price is significantly less than what the market value is? You're all are high and mighty, but just as shady as me if you take a bike for less than market value. Right?

The point of this thread was a parody on all the whiners on here that complain because a seller would actually take a better offer than their original asking price once they realize the bike has more value. Especially when their intention was to flip it anyway.

Now I am going to drew every cable guide off of this thing, paint it bright green and put pink deep V rims on it just to piss everyone off. I hope you’re all happy now.

the OP will gain his profit because the seller decided to take an expense. that means the OP will profit at the seller's expense. pretty simple

If it makes me more right to tell you to get off your high horse, then I guess I'm more right.

But I never said that. I was simply defending someone else (or a group of someone elses) against an accusation.
