Joel, sometimes ya get no respect!

Luckily I have no toe overlap on my fixed gear, but I do on my commuter. You just get used to it. The only problem I've had is that my toe came down on the fender which then ripped the fender up due to the rotation of the tire. Broke a fairly brand new front fender. Luckily I was just getting going so no crash, just a really slow speed stumble.

I'm trying to remember the last time I had a bike that didn't have toe overlap.
It's only an issue when making u-turns. |

Have you considered slightly shorter crank arms in addition to a fender that stops a few degrees higher on the circumference of the wheel? While I don't think your bike is unrideable as is, those two things could solve your problem.

Hm, I don't have toverlap on any of my bikes, including my track bike. You know what they say about guys with small feet...

I don't think I've ever ridden a bike with less overlap than that. I never had a problem except when making extremely slow speed (nearly stopped), extremely tight U-turns.
By the time you are in a turn tight enough to require that much wheel movement, you will not likely be pedaling, anyway. You will have the inside pedal straight up. |
