Cycling is unlike: ...........
I'll start.
Cycling is unlike playing baseball, for me. All that time sitting actually gets me somewhere on a bike. |
Jogging?
|
hanging out in the pool, the first place i go after a long ride
|
Cycling is unlike every sport I ever played as a kid because I don't get picked last when choosing sides.
|
Cycling is unlike driving...especially unlike driving. My progress is mine alone, without the need to adjust to a thousand others who have different ideas as to what is a proper speed and bearing. It clears the head, rather than clutters it. It soothes, rather than jangles.

By the way, ad hoc games seem to have gone extinct. It's all organized now. It's a shame, really. |
Cycling is unlike....Exercise.
Exercise is something you should do, you need to do to keep yourself fit. For me exercising isn't fun, it's more like work, all monotony and drudgery and I can't wait for it to be over. Cycling on the contrary is freedom and joy. I love the feel of the wind on the downhills, the scenery rushing by, and yes even the ache in my muscles that tell me I've climbed back up the hill faster than ever before. Cycling is one of the few pleasures that is good for you mentally and physically. |
"Cycling"? What the hell does that mean. I thought this was the C&V Forum. Sounds like a Greek word, or something to do with circles. Are you asking what is unlike circles? My couch is square and warm and cozy. I'd say, "cycling" is unlike my couch. Hey! That reminds me, I need to ride my Greek word for circles in the morning.;)

cycling is unlike WOrk
|
Cycling is unlike... The frame, components, wheels, etc., never comment on how I did after I complete a ride. |
...eating a jelly doughnut.
|
Wasting time...
|
Staying married.
|
Cycling is unlike losing a good friend.
|
cholera. being dead. being stampeded by elephants. riding a unicorn over a double rainbow. being shot in the face.
I can think of an endless list of things that cycling is not. |
Well, having actually been shot in the face, I concur.

We're not talking about "that time of the month'" right?
|
...looking for a parking space, then getting a parking ticket.

... imprisonment (I can imagine). For me, cycling is one form of freedom that feeds me on a very deep level.
