French frame, unknown make...any ideas?
 

Hi,

I've been working on building up a French steel frame. I've asked around at a few bike shops and a few friends, with no luck on finding out what possible make it might be. It was repainted when I bought it, but I thought the geometrics and style of the joins might help someone who knows a bit about french bikes?

The dimensions are 57cm top tube and 57cm seat tube. Any other measurements you want me to take or more detail photos let me know. Fittings are all french sizes, so 22.05 diameter head tube etc.

Would be great to find out, it's just one of those things that nag at you when you're building a frame...or so I've found, as this is my first build from scratch.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to say it weighs in at just about 2kg without the forks. I haven't taken the weight with the forks yet, I'm pretty sure they're the original forks as they have the same red paint work under the white paint job.

I don't know much about the Frenchies, but that looks like a quality frame for sure.

So, whilst looking for suppliers of vintage French components I found a guy in France. Turns out he sold it to the guy who sold it on to me via lfgss.com...small world

He says it's made by a small maker from Marseille, France by the name of Tinazzi. Tubing is Columbus double butted.

Any suggestions of the components I might want to stick on this thing? Been looking at C Record campag stuff, but I was told this frame pre-dates C Record?

Could you PM me pics and price of the Scapin?
