That is a nice bike.


You can do that but recognize that buying an Alfine 8 speed hub plus spokes and a gear shifter will end up costing over $400. That price assumes you reuse the old rim and tire. Then, you still have to build, true and tension the wheel, route the cable.

I started to read up on the Creme Cycles and a good deal for being built in Europe. If I didnt already pay for a new bike that I have coming I would have been tempted to get the Vinyl from Chain reaction.

Chain Reaction is where I got mine.

They really are underpriced, I think. Now's the time if you want one. The Canadian distributor lists their prices at $1300 for the bike I paid $800 for.

You need one of these. Just get a mixte and make it your own. Much more satisfying.

According to them, it's being sent by air: 3-6 days to the US. :D

We'll see... I want an in-air tracking system, like Norad does for Santa.

Forgot to add: they don't call it "shipped." They refer to the bike having been "dispatched," which makes me feel like some dishevled British guy is going to appear in my doorway, holding a pink-paint covered cricket bat, and say: "the bike has been dispatched."

And I checked with them: it is pink. They confused the name of the brand with the color.
