What to do about these decals?
In the process of restoring a Schwinn LeTour which I may sell and am in doubt about what to do with the poor decals. The finish of the bike is good (a metallic sand color) and I don't want to get involved in repainting but I also don't like to leave these messy decals which are actually a little rough to the touch. Any suggestions?

I'd clean it carefully, then fill in the missing areas with a fine brush and white paint. As more decal comes off, I'd repeat the process until the whole thing has been replaced by white paint. Probably wouldn't be perfect, but close enough.

Wet sand it, and put another decal over it. Bunch of decals and stickers available for that brand.

rhm: Having made my living as an artist all my life I know what skill is involved in hand lettering and that I don't possess it. Thanks for your suggestion but for me that is not an option. |
I haven't ordered any of these, but at $5 shipped, what's not to like? ;)
And 17 colors to choose from. :) http://cgi.ebay.com/9-Set-SCHWINN-Bi...item746abc0c6c |
Good job!
The LeDecals were LeToast and needed LeRemoving from LeFinish. |
